Educational Qualification & Experience

1. Office Assistant:

• Essential Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Arts (other than Fine Arts/Performing Arts) or Science or Commerce or Business Administration or Computer Applications with minimum 60% marks from a recognized University.
• Essential Experience: Minimum two years post qualification experience in matters relating to Office work, Data entry, Record and Report Generation, maintenance of files, registers and records in a Public/Private sector/Commercial Organization.
• Desirable: Proficiency in Computer Applications like MS Office, Excel, SAP.

2. Draftsman (Mechanical):

• Essential Qualification: Three-year Diploma in Mechanical or Marine or Naval Architecture Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education securing minimum 60% marks.
• Essential Experience: Two years' experience in design and drafting of Machinery/Hull Machinery Outfit/Pipe outfit/Accommodation outfit Ship systems in a Shipyard/commercial establishment related to design.
• Desirable: Proficiency in AutoCAD.

3. Draftsman (Electrical):

• Essential Qualification: Three-year Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics or Instrumentation & Communication Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education securing minimum 60% marks.

4. Technician (Electrician):

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC, ITI (National Trade Certificate) and All India National Trade Test (National Apprenticeship Certificate) in the trade of Electrician.
• Essential Experience: Minimum two years post qualification experience as Electrician looking after the operation of Substation, installation of HT/LT switchgears, transformers, maintenance of electrical equipments in a Ship Building Company or Ship Repair company or Engineering Company or Electricity generation/transmission/distribution company.

5. Store Keeper:

• Essential Experience: Minimum Two years post qualification experience in storekeeping in a Shipyard or Engineering Company or Government Company or Establishment or Semi Government Company or Establishment or Commercial Establishment.

• Phase I - Objective Type Offline Test (70 Marks): 75 minutes duration, 70 Multiple Choice Questions.
  • General Knowledge: 5 Marks
  • Reasoning: 5 Marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 10 Marks
  • General English: 10 Marks
  • Discipline Related: 40 Marks
• Phase II - Descriptive Type Offline Test (30 Marks): 60 minutes duration, Writing Skills.
• Total Marks: 100
• Minimum Pass Marks: UR - 50%, OBC - 45%, PwBD - 40%

For Draftsman and Technician (Electrician):

• Phase I - Objective Type Offline Test (30 Marks): 35 minutes duration.
  • General Knowledge: 5 Questions
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 5 Questions
  • Trade Related: 20 Questions
• Phase II - Practical Test (70 Marks): In the relevant trade.
• Total Marks: 100

How to Apply for UCSL Workmen Recruitment 2026

• Step 1: Visit the official UCSL website www.udupicsl.com or CSL website www.cochinshipyard.in (Career page → UCSL, Malpe).
• Step 2: Go through the User Manual and FAQ published on the website before filling out the online application.
• Step 3: Complete the One-time Registration in the SAP online portal.
• Step 4: Fill the online application form with all required details carefully.
