Eligibility Criteria

1. Essential Qualification:

• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering with First Class with a valid GATE score.
• OR M.E/M.Tech with First Class in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics & Automation/Machine Design/Solid Mechanics and B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering with First Class.

2. Desirable Criteria:

• Working knowledge of finite element packages, CAD, 3D Printing, Composite Materials, basic electronics, and instrumentation.

3. Age Limit (as on date of application):

• Maximum 28 years.
• Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC candidates as per Government guidelines.

4. GATE Score:

• The GATE score should be valid as on the date of interview in the aforementioned subject only.

5. Other Conditions:

• Only candidates who have completed the course and awarded degree/provisional certificate are eligible to apply.
• Those who were already awarded JRF position in any of the DRDO Laboratories/centres earlier are not eligible to apply again.
• Candidates working in Govt/Public sector undertaking/Autonomous bodies should produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Fellowship Emoluments

• Stipend: Rs. 37,000/- per month for JRF with applicable H.R.A. and other emoluments as per DRDO rules.
• Tenure: The post is temporary in nature and the initial tenure is for 02 (Two) years. Subsequent upgradation to SRF grade is as per DRDO guidelines.
• The JRF candidates may be allowed to register for part-time Ph.D. (if selected) with any University/Institution during the tenure of fellowship upon approval.
• The offer of fellowship does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO.

Selection Process

• Screening of Applications: Screening of eligible applications will be based on GATE score, marks secured in degree, fulfilment of desirability criteria, and relevant work experience (if any).
• Walk-in Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a walk-in interview at DYSL-SM, Hyderabad.
• Panel Formation: Based on the interview, a panel of candidates for the anticipated vacancy will be drawn which will be valid for a period of one year.
• Empanelment does not entitle any candidate to an offer of fellowship, which is contingent upon occurrence of vacancies during the year.
• Director, DYSL-SM reserves the right to not select any candidate if suitable candidates are not available.
