Educational Qualification
- Candidates should have passed out from ITI duly recognized by NCVT/SCVT as per Gazette Notification of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
- Minimum two years duration trade except for COPA, Painter, Plumber, Welder, and Food Production.
- Candidates having ITI certificate from NCVT/SCVT Board are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in the years 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are only eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying exam earlier than 2023 are not eligible.
- Only regular candidates who have completed the qualifying examination are eligible to apply.
- Applications of those candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination but whose results have not been declared on 30 August 2026 will not be considered for training.
Age Limit (As on 01 September 2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- UR Category: 27 years
- OBC Category: 30 years
- SC/ST Category: 32 years
- PwBD Category: 37 years
Stipend / Salary
- Selected candidates will receive a stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and rules.
- Stipend varies by trade: Rs. 10,560/- or Rs. 11,040/- per month as mentioned in the vacancy table above.
- No employment is guaranteed to the apprentices on completion of their training.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam (ITI).
- Walk-in-Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a walk-in-interview.
- Document Verification: Original documents will be verified at the time of the interview.
- Joining Letter: Selected candidates will be awarded a joining letter on the spot at CVRDE, Avadi, Chennai.
- Candidates will be informed on the spot regarding the status of selection.

How to Apply for CVRDE ITI Apprentice Walk-in-Interview 2026
- Step 1: Register on the NCVT/SCVT MIS portal at https://ncvtmis.gov.in (Mandatory for ITI candidates).
- Step 2: Download the application form from the official DRDO/CVRDE website or obtain it at the venue.
- Step 3: Fill the application form with all the required details, including the NCVT/SCVT registration number.
- Step 4: Gather all required original documents and self-attested photocopies.
- Step 5: Report to the venue on 08 or 09 September 2026 between 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
- Step 6: Appear for the walk-in-interview with all original documents for verification.

Important Instructions
- Registration of ITI candidates on the NCVT/SCVT MIS portal (https://ncvtmis.gov.in) is mandatory.
- The registration number must be provided while filling the application and will be verified at the time of the walk-in-interview/document verification.
- Duration of training will be strictly in accordance with the Apprentices Act, 1961, Apprenticeship Rules, and its amendments from time to time.
- Only candidates who have passed in the year 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying exam earlier than 2023 are not eligible.
- OBC certificates whose validity has expired will not be accepted.
- Candidates who have completed the qualifying examination as regular candidates are only eligible to apply.
- No employment is guaranteed to the apprentices on completion of their training.
- If at any stage it comes to notice that the candidate does not fulfill eligibility conditions or documents enclosed are false/forged, the candidature/appointment shall be withdrawn immediately.
- Finally selected candidates will have to produce a valid police verification certificate at the time of joining from their place of last residence/permanent address.
- Candidates will be informed on the spot regarding the status of selection.
