Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.
• Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31 December 2026.
• Those who are in the final year/semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally, subject to the condition that if provisionally selected, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31 December 2026.
• Matriculate Ex-servicemen who have obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force, after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union, are also eligible for the post. Such certificates should be dated on or before 31 December 2026.

Age Limit (As on 01 April 2026)

• Minimum Age: 20 years
• Maximum Age: 28 years
• Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 April 1998 and not later than 01 April 2006 (both days inclusive).

Age Relaxation

• OBC Category: 3 years
• SC/ST Category: 5 years
• PwBD (OBC): 13 years
• PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
• Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Actual period of service rendered in defence services + 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST), subject to a maximum age of 50 years.
• Widows, Divorced women, and women judicially separated from their husbands & who are not remarried: 7 years (subject to maximum age limit of 38 years for OBC & 40 years for SC/ST candidates).
• Trained Apprentices of SBI: OBC - 4 years, SC/ST - 6 years, PwBD (OBC) - 14 years, PwBD (SC/ST) - 16 years.

Salary & Benefits

• Pay Scale: Rs. 24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480.
• Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 26,730/- (Rs. 24,050/- plus two advance increments admissible to graduates).
• Total starting emoluments for a Clerical Cadre employee payable at Metro like Mumbai will be around Rs. 46,000/- per month inclusive of D.A. and other allowances at the current rate.
• Allowances may vary depending upon the place of posting.
• Eligible for reimbursement of various perquisites, provident fund, pension under the New Pension Scheme (Defined Contribution Benefit), medical, Leave-Fare and other facilities as per Bank's instructions.

Selection Process

• Phase I - Preliminary Examination: Tentatively scheduled in September 2026. This is a qualifying stage.
• Phase II - Main Examination: Tentatively scheduled in October/November 2026. The marks obtained in the Main Examination will be considered for the final merit list.
• Phase III - Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Provisionally selected candidates who have not studied the specified local language in class 10th or 12th will have to appear for this test. Candidates who fail to qualify will not be offered appointment.
• Bonus Marks: Trained apprentices of SBI will be given a weightage of 2.5% of the maximum marks (i.e., 5 marks out of 200 marks) as bonus marks in the Main Examination.
• Merit List: Will be drawn State-wise and category-wise based on the aggregate marks in the Main Examination.

Important Instructions

• Candidates can apply for vacancies in one State/UT only and can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project.
• Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the specified opted local language of the State/UT they are applying for.
• Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test.
• There is no provision for Inter Circle Transfer / Inter State Transfer for Junior Associates to be recruited.
• Candidates working in SBI in the Clerical cadre are not eligible to apply under this project.
• Candidates against whom there is an adverse report regarding character & antecedents, moral turpitude, etc. are not eligible to apply.
• OBC candidates must belong to the "Non-Creamy Layer" to be eligible for the OBC reservation.
