Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

• Must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026):

• Stenographer Grade-II: 18 to 27 years
• Tax Assistant: 18 to 27 years
• Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): 18 to 25 years

Age Relaxation:

• Meritorious sportspersons are eligible for relaxation of upper age limit up to a maximum of 5 years (10 years for SC/ST candidates).

Educational Qualification:

• Stenographer Grade-II: 12th class pass or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
• Tax Assistant: A Degree of a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
• Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Matriculation or equivalent pass.

Sports Achievement Period:

• Sports achievements/participation shall be considered only up to the date of notification (10.08.2026).

Selection Criteria (Order of Preference)

Selection of meritorious sportspersons will be based on the following order of preference as per DoPT guidelines:

• First Preference: Represented India in an International Competition with clearance from Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
• Second Preference: Represented State/UT in Senior or Junior National Championships organized by recognized National Sports Federations or National Games organized by Indian Olympics Association and won medals or positions up to 3rd place.
• Third Preference: Represented a University in Inter-University Competition conducted by Association of Indian Universities/Inter University Sports Board or Khelo India University Games and won medals or positions up to 3rd place.
• Fourth Preference: Represented State/UT in Khelo India Youth Games (above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, or Khelo India Para Games and won medals or positions up to 3rd place.
• Fifth Preference: Represented State Schools in National Sports/Games for Schools conducted by All-India School Games Federation and won medals or positions up to 3rd place.
• Sixth Preference: Represented State/UT/University/State Schools Teams at levels mentioned in categories (B) to (E) but could not win a medal or position.

Selection Process

• Screening of Applications: Applications will be screened based on sports achievements and eligibility criteria.
• Order of Preference: Selection will be based on the order of preference prescribed by DoPT.
• Skill Test: Selected candidates for Stenographer Grade-II will be required to qualify the Skill Test:
  • Dictation: 10 minutes @ 80 w.p.m.
  • Transcription: 50 w.p.m. (English) or 65 w.p.m. (Hindi) on Computers.
• Data Entry Skill Test: For Tax Assistant: Data Entry Skill Test @ 8000 key depressions per hour.
• Document Verification: Original certificates will be verified.
• Medical Examination: Medical fitness will be ascertained.
• Police Verification: Appointment subject to police verification.
