Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification:
- Ph.D. in an appropriate branch with an outstanding academic record throughout.
- Candidates with industrial research experience in CS/IT or emerging technologies are also welcome to apply.
- In case the candidate possesses significant and proven industry experience in the field of CS/IT or emerging technologies, the requirement of significant experience in research guidance at Ph.D. level and of them possessing Ph.D. degree, may be relaxed.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Professor in a reputed Educational Institute (relaxable in the case of an outstanding candidate).
- Candidates with industrial research experience in CS/IT or emerging technologies are also eligible.
- Proven administrative, teaching and research background with significant experience in research guidance at the Ph.D. level.
- Leadership qualities to head an Institute of National Importance.
- Applicant should preferably be not more than 60 years of age.
- The appointment will be for a period of five years or till the attainment of 70 years, whichever is earlier.
Salary & Pay Scale
- Pay: Rs. 2,10,000/- (Fixed) as per 7th CPC.
- Special Allowance: Rs. 11,250/- per month.
- Additional Allowances: Allowances as admissible under the Rules of the Institute.

Selection Process
- The Director will be appointed after obtaining the approval of the Competent Authority based on the recommendations made by the Search-cum-Selection Committee.
- The Search-cum-Selection Committee will consider:
- Applications received in response to this advertisement.
- Nominations received from eminent persons.
- The appointment will be on a contractual basis for a period of five years or till the attainment of 70 years, whichever is earlier, as per usual terms and conditions.
