Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit:
- Maximum age limit: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications (30 September 2026).
- Officers holding the post of Stenographer under the Central Government:
- (a) Holding analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
- (b) With five years' service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in Level-6 (Rs. 35,400 - 1,12,400) in the Pay Matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.
- As per the notification, the essential qualification is "Not Applicable" for the Private Secretary post. However, candidates must possess stenography skills and relevant experience as per the job requirements.
Salary & Benefits
- Pay Scale: Level-7 (Rs. 44,900 - 1,42,400) in the Pay Matrix of 7th CPC.
- Pay of the officer selected on deputation will be regulated as per DOPT's OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time.
- Deputation period including deputation in another ex-cadre post shall ordinarily not exceed three years.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Taking dictation in shorthand and its transcription
- Fixing up appointments
- Attending telephone calls and visitors in a graceful manner
- Keeping an accurate list of engagements, meetings, etc.
- Keeping a note of movements of files
- Carrying out corrections to the officer's reference books
- Making fair copies of drafts and D.O. letters to be signed by the officer
