Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025)
- General/Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class (Male/Female/Third Gender): 21 to 40 Years
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Male/Female): 21 to 42 Years
- Government Servants of Bihar State (with 3 years regular service): 05 Years relaxation in upper age limit
- Ex-Servicemen: 03 Years relaxation plus service period (subject to maximum 57 years on cut-off date)
Physical Standards
Height:
- UR/BC/EBC/SC (Male): Minimum 163 cm
- ST (Male): Minimum 152.5 cm
- UR/BC/EBC/SC (Female): Minimum 150 cm
- ST (Female): Minimum 145 cm
- Third Gender candidates: Same as BC category
- UR/BC/EBC/SC/ST (Male): Minimum 79 cm (without expansion) and 84 cm (with expansion)
- Minimum expansion of 5 cm is mandatory
- No chest measurement for females
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Male Candidates: 25 km walking in 4 hours
- Female Candidates: 14 km walking in 4 hours
- Candidates taking more time will be declared unsuccessful
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess the educational qualification as prescribed in the Bihar Forest Range Officer Cadre (Recruitment and Service Conditions) Rules, 2013 and Amendment Rules, 2020.

Selection Process
- Written Competitive Examination
- Paper-I: General Hindi (100 Marks, 50 MCQ, Duration: 1 Hour)
- Minimum qualifying marks: 30
- 02 marks for correct answer, 0.2 marks deducted for wrong answer
- Marks of Paper-I will not be added to merit
- Paper-II: General Studies (300 Marks, 100 MCQ, Duration: 2 Hours)
- Subjects: General Knowledge & Current Affairs, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics & Mental Ability
- 03 marks for correct answer, 0.3 marks deducted for wrong answer
- Paper-I: General Hindi (100 Marks, 50 MCQ, Duration: 1 Hour)
- Candidates will be selected for Interview based on 06 times the number of vacancies category-wise.
- Interview: 50 Marks
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Male: 25 km walking in 4 hours

Reservation Policy
- Reservation will be applicable as per Bihar Act 3, 1992 for SC/ST/OBC.
- 35% horizontal reservation for women candidates of Bihar domicile (as per GA Department Resolution No. 12575 dated 09.07.2025).
- 2% horizontal reservation for grandchildren of Freedom Fighters of Bihar State (as per GA Department Resolution No. 13185 dated 03.09.2015).
- EWS reservation as per Bihar Act, 2019.
- Third Gender (Kinnar/Kothi/Hijra/Transgender) candidates are included in Backward Class category (Sl. No. 47 of Annexure-2 of Act 3, 1992).
- Reservation benefits are applicable only to the domicile of Bihar State.
- Candidates from other states will be considered under Unreserved category.

- Register with a valid and active mobile number and email ID
- Fill the first part of the application with personal details and pay the application fee online
- After successful registration, login with Registration Number and Password
- Fill the second part with educational qualifications and other details
- Upload scanned photograph and signature as per specifications:
- Photograph: Colour, white background, recent (within 2 months), 15-25 KB, .jpg/.jpeg/.gif format
- Signature: In English & Hindi (Black/Blue ink), white background, 15-25 KB, .jpg/.jpeg/.gif format
- Preview the application and click 'Submit' button
- After submission, an acknowledgement message will be sent to registered mobile/email
