Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality:
- Candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Not exceeding 69 years as on 01 October 2026.
- Engagement period: Initially for a period of one year till the attaining age of 70 years or till regular incumbent joins, whichever is earlier.
- Candidate must be retired from Central Govt./State Govt./PSU.
- Candidate should be a pensioner drawing pension from any of the above Govt. body or PSU.
- MBBS Degree (Minimum qualification required for GDMO).
Remuneration & Benefits
- Remuneration: Consolidated remuneration as per M.o.H.&F.W. Order No. A.12026/01/2022-CHS-I, dated 14.07.2023 & MoF, Department of Expenditure O.M. F.No.3-25/2020-E.IIIA, dated 09.12.2020 (Pay drawn at the time of retirement minus basic Pension).
- The remuneration will commence from the date of joining duty at the place of posting.
- Extension of contract is subject to performance report by the controlling officer and regular attendance.
- No DA/HRA/TA/LTC/Leave Encashment or any other allowances are admissible.
- The engaged contractual doctor shall not be entitled to any benefit like PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical attendance treatment, Seniority, Promotion etc. or any other benefit available to a regular Government servant.

- Screening of Applications: Applications will be screened based on eligibility criteria.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at the Office of the Director, All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health, 110, C. R. Avenue, Kolkata - 700073.
- Document Verification: Original documents will be verified at the time of the interview.

Important Instructions
- The appointment is purely on a contract basis initially for a period of one year or till a regular incumbent joins, whichever is earlier.
- The Government reserves the right to discontinue or terminate the contractual doctor on failure to perform duties to the satisfaction of the competent authority.
- The Government also reserves the right to discontinue or terminate the contractual doctor abruptly without assigning any reason at any point of time.
- Though primary duty would be as a clinician, the engaged contractual doctor shall perform the duties assigned by the head of the officer/controlling officer.
- No extra/additional allowance will be admissible in case of such assignment.
- The engaged contractual doctor shall not be entitled to any benefit like PF, pension, gratuity, medical attendance treatment, seniority, promotion etc. or any other benefit available to a Government servant appointed on regular basis.
- DA or any other allowance like HRA, TA etc. and other benefit like LTC, leave encashment are not admissible to the contractual doctor at any point of time.
- Extension of contract is subject to performance report by the controlling officer and regular attendance.
