Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Deputy Director (IS) Deputation Recruitment
For Deputation (Including Short Term Contract):
- Officers under the Central Government or State Governments or Universities or recognized research institute or public sector undertakings or statutory or autonomous organisation:
- (i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; OR
- (ii) With five years' service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in Level 10 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 56,100 - 1,77,500) or equivalent in the parent cadre or Department.
- Master's Degree in Computer Application or M.Sc. Computer Science or M.Sc. Information Technology from a recognized University or Institute; OR
- Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Computer Technology or Computer Science and Engineering or Information Technology from a recognized University or Institute.
- Five years' experience in actual software development using PHP or JAVA or ASP.NET and having experience in database such as MYSQL or SQL or ORACLE or POSTGRES database in a Government office or public sector undertaking or statutory or autonomous organisation or in any recognized institution.
- One year experience in project designing including framing data structures; data flow; report designing; complete system designing and online project implementation on the servers under secured environment.
Duties & Responsibilities of Deputy Director (IS)
- Responsible for System Designing, Programming, Software Development, Maintenance and Operations of various in-house projects for the user branch.
- Responsible for timelines, reliability and security of operations, software and data, for project allocated.
- Rectification of system faults including software problems.
- Updating and modifying application software.
- Responsible for taking system backup and maintaining proper documentation.
- Guiding junior in line for installation and programming/modification of application software packages.
- Overseeing updation and modification of Commission's website and integration of databases into website.
- Providing of technical support for implementation of Office in UPSC.
- Liaisoning with third party who are part of eGovernance Project being implemented in the Commission.
Age Limit (As on Closing Date)
- Maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short term contract) shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Period of Deputation
- The posts will be filled up on deputation (including short term contract) basis initially for a period of 03 (three) years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
- The period of deputation (including short term contract) including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment shall ordinarily not exceed four years.
Pay & Other Terms of Deputation
- The pay of the selected candidate will be regulated under the provisions contained in the Department of Personnel & Training O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 17/06/2010 as amended from time to time.
- Pay Level: Level 11 (Rs. 67,700 - 2,08,700) as per 7th CPC.
Selection Process
