About Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. It is the country's apex agency responsible for combating drug trafficking and enforcing the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should be officers of the Central Government, State Government or Union Territories who satisfy either of the following conditions:

• Holding analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
• OR with five years' service rendered after appointment to the post on a regular basis in Level-12 of the Pay Matrix (₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.

Appointments will be made strictly on deputation basis as per Government of India rules.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's degree from a recognized University or institution.

Experience Required

• Ten years' experience in the enforcement of regulatory laws and collection of intelligence relating thereto.

Age Limit

The maximum age for appointment on deputation shall not exceed 56 years on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Deputation Period

The period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed 05 (five) years.

Documents Required

Eligible officers should forward their application through the proper channel along with the following documents:

• Duly filled Bio-data/C.V. in the prescribed proforma.
• Supporting certificate/documents in respect of claimed educational qualification including essential qualification of Bachelor Degree (duly attested).
• Photo copies of APARs for the last five years duly attested (with stamp) on each page by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary to the Government of India or equivalent, including GAP Sheet/NIC/NRC.
• Integrity Certificate.
• Vigilance Clearance certificate as per proforma.
• Major/minor penalty statement for the last 10 years.
• Cadre clearance incorporating that in the event of his/her selection, he/she will be relieved to join the post of Additional Director in NCB on deputation basis.
