Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree awarded by a University established by Law in India or an equivalent qualification.
• Candidates who have appeared for the final year examination and are awaiting results are also eligible for the Preliminary Examination.
• However, such candidates must produce proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of Main Examination application.

Age Limit (as on the last date of application):

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age:
  • General Merit: 40 years
  • Category 2A/2B/3A/3B: 43 years
  • SC/ST/Category-1: 45 years

Note: As per Government Order No. CUE 262 Senani 2025 dated 29-01-2026, a one-time relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit is provided to all categories.

Age Relaxation:

• Ex-Servicemen: Service period + 3 years
• PwBD Candidates: 10 years
• Widows (not remarried): 10 years

Selection Process

• Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type – Multiple Choice)
  • Paper I – General Studies (National & International Importance) + Humanities
  • Paper II – General Studies (State Importance) + General Science & Technology + General Mental Ability
  • Total Marks: 400 (2 Papers x 200 marks each)
  • Duration: 2 hours each
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
• Stage 2: Main Examination (Descriptive Type)
  • Qualifying Papers: Kannada (150 marks), English (150 marks) – Minimum 35% each
  • Compulsory Papers: Essay (250 marks), General Studies I to IV (250 marks each)
  • Total: 1250 marks
• Stage 3: Personality Test/Interview
• Final Merit: Based on Main Examination marks and Interview performance.

How to Apply for KPSC Gazetted Probationers Recruitment 2026

• Step 1: Visit the official KPSC website: www.kpsc.kar.nic.in or https://kpsconline.karnataka.gov.in
• Step 2: Click on "New Registration" to complete One-Time Registration (OTR) if not already registered.
• Step 3: Fill all personal, educational, and other required details carefully.
• Step 4: Upload scanned photograph (maximum 200 KB) and signature (maximum 70 KB) in JPEG/JPG format.
• Step 5: Fill the reservation details and upload relevant caste/community certificates (if applicable).
• Step 6: Click on "Apply to Post" tab and select the desired notification.
• Step 7: Pay the application fee through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI.
• Step 8: Verify all details carefully before final submission.
• Step 9: Submit the application and download the confirmation with QR Code for future reference.

Note: Once the application is submitted and declaration is made, no editing will be allowed. The application will be confirmed only after successful fee payment and QR Code generation.
