Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Entomology / Agricultural Entomology / Zoology / any relevant discipline of life sciences from a recognized university.
• NET Qualification: Candidates selected through any one of the following:
• National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET), including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship), and GATE.
• Selection through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies/Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, etc. (As per DST O.M. No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 (E-file-41804) dated 26.06.2023).
• Desirable: Experience in insect collection, preservation, and taxonomic identification. Hands-on experience in insect dissection, microscopy, scientific imaging, and molecular techniques (DNA extraction, PCR, DNA barcoding, and sequence analysis). Knowledge of phylogenetic analysis, biodiversity surveys, museum curation, and scientific writing with research publications will be preferred.
• Age Limit: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on the date of interview.
• Age Relaxation: Relaxation in the upper age limit will be admissible for SC/ST (5 years) / OBC (3 years) / PwBD (10 years) candidates as per Government of India/ICAR rules.
