About RAC, DRDO

Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) is an independent self-accounting unit of DRDO under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Established on 23 July 1985 after DRDO was granted exemption from the purview of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), RAC is engaged in a wide range of selection activities related to recruitment, assessment, and training of scientists of DRDO on a regular basis. • Eligible Candidates: Eminent Retired / Serving persons (Scientists, Technologists, Academicians and Civil Servants) at the level of Secretary to the Government of India.

• Formulation of policies related to recruitment and assessment of DRDO & ADA Scientists.
• Providing guidance to ensure objectivity and confidentiality in execution of all selection activities.
• Ensuring the highest level of satisfaction of all stakeholders.
• Overall supervision and management of RAC functions and activities.

Selection Process

• Search-cum-Selection Committee: A high-level Search-cum-Selection Committee will be appointed by the Government of India.
• Committee Authority: The Committee will have the authority to consider any other name(s) for the appointment apart from considering biodata received against this advertisement.
• Approval: The appointment will be made with the approval of the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC).
• Final Selection: Selection will be made in accordance with extant DOP&T instructions.
