Educational Qualification
- For Engineering Disciplines: BE/B.Tech in the relevant discipline in 1st Division with valid GATE qualification OR ME/M.Tech in the relevant discipline in 1st Division both at Graduate and Post Graduate level.
- For Science Disciplines: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science (Physics) OR ME/M.Tech in Oceanography/Ocean Technology/Meteorology in 1st Division both at Graduate and Post Graduate level.
- NET/GATE qualification wherever prescribed should be valid as on the date of walk-in interview (10 October 2026).
- Candidates having Essential Qualification degree from Foreign Universities should obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, Delhi and submit the same.
- All qualifications acquired should be from recognized Universities/Institutions.
Age Limit
- Upper Age Limit: 28 years as on the date of walk-in interview (10 October 2026).
- The upper age limit shall be relaxable to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC as per Government of India norms.
Application Fee

Fellowship & Benefits
- Selected candidates will be offered a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) with monthly emoluments of Rs. 37,000/- plus House Rent Allowance as admissible under the rules.
- The Fellowships shall be awarded initially for a period of two years (extendable as per rules).
- A panel for the vacancies available and future vacancies will be drawn and the Panel will operate for a period of one year.
- The offer of Fellowship does not confer on Fellows any right for absorption in DRDO.

- Interview: The interview will be conducted on 10 October 2026 at 09:30 AM at Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya, NPOL Campus, Thrikkakara P.O., Kochi - 682021.

- The decision of Director, NPOL as to educational qualification(s) prescribed, its equivalence and relevance to the Laboratory shall be final.

- Step 1: Download the official advertisement from the DRDO website at www.drdo.gov.in.
- Step 2: Prepare a one-page bio-data as per the prescribed format.
- Step 3: Send Bio-data via Email: Prospective candidates may email their one-page bio-data to hrd.npol@gov.in for making necessary administrative arrangements.
- Step 4: Report to the venue on 10 October 2026 at 09:30 AM at Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya, NPOL Campus, Thrikkakara P.O., Kochi - 682021.
- Step 5: Bring all original certificates/testimonials for verification along with a Government issued photo ID proof (Voter's ID/Aadhaar Card/PAN Card/Driving License, etc.).
