Educational Qualification

Research Associateship (RA):

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in relevant discipline (Chemistry) from a recognized university.

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF):

• Option 1: Post Graduate degree in relevant discipline (basic sciences - Chemistry/Material Science/Polymer Science) in first division with NET qualification.
• Option 2: Graduate degree in professional course (B.E./B.Tech.) in relevant discipline (Chemical Engineering or Technology/Material Science & Engineering/Polymer Science or Engineering or Technology) in first division with NET/GATE.
• Option 3: Post Graduate degree in professional course (M.E./M.Tech.) in relevant discipline in first division both at Graduate and Post Graduate level.

Age Limit (as on Date of Interview - 02.09.2026)

• Research Associateship (RA): Maximum 35 years
• Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Maximum 28 years
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years (only for Non-Creamy Layer)
• Note: OBC candidates in the creamy layer will not be eligible for age relaxation.

Fellowship Stipend & Benefits

Stipend:

• Research Associateship (RA): ₹67,000/- per month
• Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): ₹37,000/- per month (1st & 2nd year)

Contingency Grant:

• JRF: Up to ₹15,000/- per annum (first two years), may be increased to ₹20,000/- for subsequent years
• RA: Up to ₹20,000/- per annum

Other Benefits:

• HRA as per Government rules
• Medical facilities for self only through MI Room facility available in the campus

Note: Research Associates and Junior Research Fellows are not eligible for other benefits like DA, CCA, Bonus, Retirement benefits, etc.
