The CVRDE Paid Internship Scheme of DRDO 2026 notification has been published for a total of 35 internship vacancies for Under Graduate and Post Graduate Engineering students. Interested and eligible candidates can apply in the prescribed format by post within 10 days from the date of publication of the advertisement. Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), Avadi, Chennai, is a premier laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification:

• Regular students pursuing B.E/B.Tech (7th/8th semester) or M.E/M.Tech (1st/2nd year) full-time course in the relevant discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution.
• Regular students from AICTE approved technical institutions / UGC approved universities are only eligible to apply.
• No equivalent qualifications or related branch will be considered.

2. Academic Performance:

• The student should have a good academic track record with ≥ 85% marks or ≥ 8.5 CGPA on a scale of 10.
• Minimum 8.5 CGPA or above, continuously maintained throughout in previous semesters.
• Students with backlogs are not eligible.

3. Age Limit:

• Below 28 years as on 1st July 2026.

4. Nationality:

• Scheme is open for students of Indian Nationality only.

5. Other Conditions:

• Students who are in receipt of any other stipend etc., by any institute are not eligible for this internship programme.

Stipend Details

• Students will be entitled for a stipend of Rs. 5,000/- per month for a period of six months.
• Stipend will be paid in two slabs of 3 months duration each of Rs. 15,000/-.
• Stipend will be credited into the students' bank account directly.
• For payment of stipend, students should complete at least 20 working days per month of internship training at CVRDE and should have good academic performance.
• No fee is applicable during application nor at any stage of the entire internship programme.
• No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible. Students should have their own arrangement for boarding/lodging & transportation.
• Students can use CVRDE Wet Canteen facility for lunch & tea on payment basis.

Selection Process

• Merit Basis: Selection will be entirely on merit basis.
• Shortlisting: Shortlisted students will be intimated through their e-mail IDs along with joining instructions.
• No Communication: No communication will be entertained from candidates who are not selected.
• Management Rights: The management reserves the right to change the vacancy positions or selection criteria at any point during the selection process without assigning any reason whatsoever.

• Step 1: Download the prescribed application format (Appendix 'A') from the official DRDO website: https://drdo.gov.in
• Step 2: Fill the application form completely in the prescribed format and affix a recent passport size photograph.
• Step 3: Obtain the Request Letter / No Objection Certificate (Appendix 'B') from the Principal/Director of the Institute.
• Step 4: Fill the Undertaking Form (Appendix 'C') as per Indian Official Secret Act.
• Step 5: Attach all required documents as listed below.
• Step 6: Send the complete application by Speed Post / Courier / Regd Post to the following address:

Award of Internship Certificate

• The 'Certificate of Completion' will be awarded to the students upon successful completion of the internship training.
• Students are expected to submit a project report of the work assigned to him/her.
• Certificate of completion and stipend will not be awarded to students who are unable to complete internship due to any reason.
