AIIMS NORCET-11 Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 Notification Out | Apply Online @ ailimsexams.ac.in

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has released the official notification for the recruitment of Nursing Officer posts through NORCET-11 (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test) for various participating AIIMS and other Central Government Institutes/Hospitals across India. A total of 2,218 vacancies have been announced across 27 participating institutes. The online application process will commence from 24 July 2026 and will close on 13 August 2026 up to 5:00 PM.

AIIMS New Delhi is the examination conducting body for NORCET. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through the official AIIMS Examination website www.aiimsexams.ac.in. The NORCET-11 examination will be conducted in two stages - Stage I (Preliminary) on 12 September 2026 and Stage II (Mains) on 30 September 2026.

Educational Qualification

  • OR GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) course from a recognized Institute with registration from State/Indian Nursing Council.
  • The candidate must have completed the prescribed course, internship, and registration with State/Indian Nursing Council on or before the closing date (13 August 2026).
  • Educational qualification must be completed on or before the closing date of online application.

Reservation Details
  • As per decision in the 4th meeting of CIB held on 27 July 2019, 80% Seats are reserved for Females and 20% for Males at participating AIIMS.
  • Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD will be as per Government of India guidelines.
  • PwBD candidates with disabilities as per Section 34(1) of RPwD Act, 2016 identified for the post of Nursing Officer are eligible for reservation.
  • Applicable PwBD categories for Nursing Officer: OL (One Leg), AAV (Acid Attack Victims), Dw (Dwarfism), and LC(OL) (Leprosy Cured - One Leg) with benchmark disability of 40% or more.

Selection Process

Stage I: NORCET Preliminary (Qualifying Examination)
  • Total Questions: 100 MCQs (100 Marks)
  • Duration: 90 Minutes
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 marks for each wrong answer
  • Sections: 5 Sections of 18 minutes each (20 questions per section)
  • Qualifying Percentile: UR/EWS - 50, OBC - 45, SC/ST - 40, PWBD - 5% additional relaxation
  • Candidates qualifying in Stage I equal to 5 times the total seats will be called for Stage II
  • All qualified PWBD candidates will be called for Stage II
Stage II: NORCET Mains (Merit Based)
  • Total Questions: 160 MCQs (160 Marks)
  • Duration: 180 Minutes
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 marks for each wrong answer
  • Sections: 4 Sections of 45 minutes each (40 questions per section)
  • Qualifying Percentage: UR/EWS - 50%, OBC - 45%, SC/ST - 40%, PWBD - 5% additional relaxation
  • Question paper will be focused towards case scenario-based questions for testing nursing skills competency
  • Syllabus will be in accordance with the education qualification (Nursing courses at essential qualification level)
  • If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, normalization procedure shall be applicable
Tie Resolution:
  • First, by number of wrong answers/negative marks in Stage II
  • Second, by marks/score in Stage I
  • Third, by number of wrong answers/negative marks in Stage I
  • Fourth, by date of birth (older candidate placed higher)
  • Fifth, by alphabetical order of candidate's name

Rules for Scribe and Compensatory Time

PwBD candidates eligible for scribe/compensatory time:
  • Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arms Affected - BA), and Cerebral Palsy: Eligible for scribe (against self-undertaking) and compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour.
  • Other categories of benchmark disabilities: Eligible with certificate from Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent confirming physical limitation to write.
  • Candidates with less than 40% disability having difficulty in writing: Eligible with certificate from competent medical authority.
Important Points for Scribe:
  • Qualification of scribe should be one step below the minimum qualification criteria (GNM/B.Sc. Nursing/equivalent) but always matriculated.
  • Scribe must be from an academic stream different from the qualification stipulated for the post.
  • Scribe should not be a candidate for the same examination.
  • A person acting as scribe for one candidate cannot be a scribe for another candidate.
  • Scribe shall not answer questions on their own.
  • All required certificates must be uploaded at the time of online application.
  • Remuneration/Honorarium/TA for own scribe shall be the candidate's sole responsibility.
