Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL), Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence has released the official notification for the walk-in-interview for the positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Research Associate (RA). SSPL invites applications from eligible candidates for a total of 23 fellowships in Physics and Electronics disciplines.
Interested and eligible candidates are invited for walk-in-interview at SJB Auditorium, SSPL complex, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi-110054. The interview will be conducted on 01st, 02nd, 08th, and 09th September 2026 as per the discipline-wise schedule. Candidates are advised to check the educational qualifications, age limits, and experience requirements carefully before appearing for the interview.

Educational Qualification
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - Physics:
- Post Graduate Degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Physics with First Division with NET qualified.
- OR Graduate Degree (B.E./B.Tech in Engineering Physics) with 1st Division with NET/GATE qualified.
- Post Graduate Degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Electronics with First Division with NET qualified.
- OR Graduate Degree (B.E./B.Tech in Electronics) with 1st Division with NET/GATE qualified.
- OR Post Graduate Degree (M.E./M.Tech) with 1st Division both at Graduate and Post Graduate Level.
- Ph.D. or Equivalent Degree in Physics/Electronics.
- OR M.E./M.Tech with 3 years of Research experience in the field of Semiconductor Materials, Devices Fabrication and Characterization with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal.
- Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis may also apply. However, Research Associateship shall be awarded only after the candidate has been awarded the degree or provisional certificate on or before the date of offer.
Age Limit & Relaxation
- JRF: Maximum 28 Years
- RA: Maximum 35 Years
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Government rules.
Fellowship Amount
- Research Associate (RA): ₹67,000/- per month
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): ₹37,000/- per month
- Selected candidates will be paid as per the provision of funds up to PDC of the project.
Selection Process
- Walk-in-Interview
- In case of large number of candidates, a screening test may be carried out on the same date.
- The selection will be based on academic qualifications, experience, and performance in the interview/screening test.
How to Apply
- Download the application form (Appendix 'A') from the official DRDO/SSPL website.
- Fill the application form duly as per the prescribed format.
- Paste a recent passport size photograph on the right top corner of the application form.
- Bring the duly filled application form along with the following documents at the time of walk-in-interview:
- Attested copies of Mark sheets/Certificates
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Experience Certificates
- Publications (if any)
- Valid NET/GATE Score Card
- All other relevant documents
- No Objection Certificate (for candidates working in Govt/PSU/Autonomous Bodies)
- Report at SJB Auditorium, SSPL complex, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi-110054 at 09:30 AM on the scheduled date.
