The Division of Genetics, ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, has invited eligible candidates to attend a Walk-in-Interview for engagement of 02 Senior Research Fellow (SRF) posts under the ICAR-funded research project titled "Molecular breeding for improvement of tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses, yield and quality traits in crops (Maize)". The positions are purely temporary, contractual and co-terminus with the project. The walk-in interview will be conducted on 30 June 2026.

Educational Qualification
- Master's Degree in Genetics / Plant Breeding / Genetics and Plant Breeding / Biotechnology / Life Sciences or allied subjects with 4-year/5-year Bachelor's Degree.
- OR
- Candidates having Postgraduate Degree in Basic Sciences with 3-year Bachelor's Degree and 2-year Master's Degree should possess NET/GATE qualification and 02 years of research experience.
- Qualifications should be as per ICAR and DST guidelines.
- Research experience in marker designing.
- PCR assay techniques.
- Marker-assisted selection.
- Gene expression assays.
- Pollination work.
- Evaluation of maize genotypes for phenotypic characterization.
Salary & Benefits
- ₹37,000/- + HRA per month for 1st & 2nd Year.
- ₹42,000/- + HRA per month for 3rd Year.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 35 Years for Men.
- Maximum Age: 40 Years for Women.
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST Candidates – 05 Years.
- OBC Candidates – 03 Years.
- PwD Candidates – 10 Years.
- Other eligible categories as per Government of India / ICAR rules.
Nature of Appointment
- The posts are purely temporary and contractual.
- Initially for one year or till completion/termination of the project, whichever is earlier.
- Appointments are project-based and co-terminus with the project.
- No claim for regular appointment at ICAR-IARI shall be entertained.

Terms & Conditions
- The post is purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis for one year or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier.
- The selected candidate shall not claim any regular appointment at ICAR-IARI.
