The North Eastern Council (NEC) Secretariat, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India, invites applications from eligible and suitable officers for recruitment to the post of Senior Secretariat Assistant on deputation basis. Selected candidates will be appointed in Level-4 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Applications through proper channel must reach the NEC Secretariat on or before 12 July 2026.

Pay Scale
- Level-4 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix
- ₹25,500 – ₹81,100
Eligibility Criteria
Deputation (2nd Method):
Officers under the Central Government, State Government or Union Territory Administration:
- Holding analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
- Having 08 years of regular service rendered after regular appointment as Junior Secretariat Assistant in Level-2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200) of the Pay Matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.
- Departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for deputation.
- Deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion.
Age Limit
- Maximum age shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Period of Deputation
- Ordinarily not exceeding 03 years.
- The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment shall not exceed 03 years.
Job Responsibilities
- Work under the orders of the Sectoral Head/Section Officer.
- Process and examine various correspondence files.
- Prepare notes and draft communications.
- Identify mistakes or misstatements of facts.
- Ensure correctness of facts and records.
- Refer to relevant rules, regulations and precedents.
- Maintain files and provide relevant information and statistics.
- Present matters clearly and suggest suitable courses of action.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly statements of the Section.
- Provide guidance to Junior Secretariat Assistants whenever required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the competent authority.

Required Documents

- Attested copies of APARs/ACRs for the last 05 years.
- Integrity Certificate.
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
- Cadre Clearance Certificate.
- Major/Minor Penalty Certificate for the last 10 years.
- Certificate verifying correctness of particulars furnished by the applicant.
Terms & Conditions
- The appointment is on deputation basis.
- Pay and allowances shall be regulated as per DoPT guidelines.
- Incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.
- Candidates will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature after submission.
- The selection will be subject to verification of all certificates and service records.

Important Instructions
