Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a Joint Venture of Government of India and Government of Tamil Nadu, has released the official employment notification for the recruitment of qualified and experienced personnel for various senior-level positions on Contract / Deputation basis. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 6 vacancies including Chief General Manager (Electrical Systems), Chief General Manager (Rolling Stock), General Manager (Electrical Systems), General Manager (Rolling Stock), Joint General Manager (Architect), Deputy General Manager (Finance & Accounts), and Manager (Architect).

Eligible Indian nationals possessing the required educational qualifications and experience are invited to apply online through the CMRL Career Portal. The selection process comprises an interview followed by a medical examination. Educational Qualifications & Experience Details

1. Chief General Manager (Electrical Systems) / General Manager (Electrical Systems) – 01 Post

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute approved by AICTE/UGC.

Experience for CGM (Electrical Systems):
  • Govt Organization: Officer having 5 years service in Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) in Railways/Equivalent in GoI OR 5 years service as Chief Engineer in State Govt organizations.
  • Metros/PSUs: Minimum 25 years post qualification executive experience with at least 3 years as GM in IDA pay scale of Rs. 1,20,000 - 2,80,000 or equivalent.
  • Private Sector: Minimum 25 years post qualification executive experience with at least 03 years in top management positions equivalent to GM in PSU reporting directly to Director/Board.
Experience for GM (Electrical Systems):
  • Govt Organization: Officer working in Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) in Railways/Equivalent in GoI OR Chief Engineer in State Govt organizations.
  • Metros/PSUs: Minimum 20 years post qualification executive experience with at least 3 years as AGM in IDA pay scale of Rs. 1,00,000 - 2,60,000 or equivalent.

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech (Electrical/ECE) from a recognized Institute/University approved by AICTE/UGC.

Experience for CGM (Rolling Stock):
  • Govt Organization: IRSEE officer having 5 years service in Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) in Railways/Equivalent in GoI OR 5 years service as Chief Engineer in State Govt organizations.
  • Metros/PSUs: Minimum 25 years post qualification executive experience with at least 3 years as GM in IDA pay scale of Rs. 1,20,000 - 2,80,000 or equivalent.
  • Private Sector: Minimum 25 years post qualification executive experience with at least 03 years in top management positions equivalent to GM in PSU reporting directly to Director/Board.
Experience for GM (Rolling Stock):

3. Joint General Manager (Architect) – 01 Post

Qualification: B.Arch from a recognized Institute/University approved by AICTE/UGC. M.Arch is preferable.

Experience:
  • Govt Organization: Officer working in Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) in Railways/Equivalent in GoI OR Executive Engineer (EE) cadre in State Govt with minimum 15 years post qualification executive experience.
  • Metros/PSUs: Minimum 15 years post qualification executive experience with at least 04 years as DGM in IDA pay scale of Rs. 80,000 - 2,20,000 or equivalent.
  • Private Sector: Minimum 15 years post qualification executive experience with at least 04 years in senior management positions equivalent to DGM in PSU reporting to top management.
Project Size Requirement: Should have worked in companies with project size not less than Rs. 500 Crore OR annual turnover not less than Rs. 100 Crore in last 3 years.

Required Experience: Major infrastructure projects (Metro Rail, Railways), mixed-use development/large-scale infrastructure development projects in design and development of Metro stations, property development design and integration with stations, sustainable design practices & green building technologies, architectural work execution from consultants, site teams & various system departments, integration of transit-oriented development principles, multimodal transport systems and relevant urban planning policies. Conversant with TNCDBR, NBC/NFPA, CRZ, EC guidelines, AutoCAD, BIM and other relevant software.

4. Deputy General Manager (Finance & Accounts) – 01 Post

Qualification: Graduate/Post-graduate from a recognized Institute/University approved by AICTE/UGC with CA/CMA.

Experience:
  • Govt Organization: Officer having 03 years service in Senior Time Scale (STS) in Railways/Equivalent in GoI OR Chief Accounts Officer (CAO) cadre in State Govt with minimum 13 years post qualification executive experience.
  • Metros/PSUs: Minimum 13 years post qualification executive experience with at least 04 years as Manager in IDA pay scale of Rs. 70,000 - 2,00,000 or equivalent.
  • Private Sector: Minimum 13 years post qualification executive experience with at least 04 years in middle management positions equivalent to Manager in PSU reporting to senior management.
Project Size Requirement: Should have worked in companies with project size not less than Rs. 500 Crore OR annual turnover not less than Rs. 100 Crore in last 3 years.

Required Experience: O&M related GEM payment clearing, Vendor payment review, I-Metro reports review, Internal Auditors coordination, O&M Budget compilation, Annual Maintenance Contracts & Outsourcing Expenses review, Monthly MIS Reports preparation, General Ledger review, Financial statements preparation (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow, Schedules), Ind AS standards knowledge, ERP knowledge, Excel and PowerPoint Presentation skills. Exposure to large infrastructure projects preferred.

Qualification: B.Arch from a recognized Institute/University approved by AICTE/UGC. M.Arch is preferable.

Experience:
  • Govt Organization: Officer working in Senior Time Scale (STS) in Railways/Equivalent in GoI OR Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) cadre in State Govt with 07 years post qualification executive experience.
  • Metros/PSUs: Minimum 07 years post qualification executive experience with at least 04 years as DM in IDA pay scale of Rs. 60,000 - 1,80,000 or equivalent.
  • Private Sector: Minimum 07 years post qualification executive experience with at least 04 years in Middle management positions equivalent to DM in PSU reporting to senior management.
Project Size Requirement: Should have worked in companies with project size not less than Rs. 200 Crore OR annual turnover not less than Rs. 50 Crore in last 3 years.

Required Experience: Major infrastructure projects (Metro Rail, Railways), mixed-use development/large-scale infrastructure development projects in Architecture design, expertise in life and fire safety requirements in design implementations & material selection, design/construction of architectural finishes for room layout and station signages. Conversant in CADD, Photoshop, 3D Max, Revit or equivalent software.

Selection Process
  • Stage 1: Shortlisting – Based on qualification and experience

Contract Period & Terms
  • Contract Type: Initially for 2 years, extendable subject to requirement and performance.
  • Deputation Type: Initial period of 3 years, extendable up to 5 years.
  • Selected candidates on contract may be considered for IDA Pay Scale on contract basis subject to satisfactory completion of 2 years.
  • Applicants from Govt/PSUs with minimum 2 years in regular pay scale may be considered for IDA Pay on contract basis directly on selection.
