State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official notification for the engagement of Specialist Cadre Officers on a Contract Basis for the posts of Defence Banking Advisor (Navy), Advisor (Central Armed Police Force), and Circle Defence Banking Advisor (CDBA). This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 5 vacancies for these prestigious positions. The online registration process has been extended, and the last date to apply is 18 July 2026.
Eligible Indian citizens who have retired from the Indian Navy, Central Armed Police Forces, or Indian Army at the rank of Vice Admiral/Rear Admiral, Director General (DG), or Major General/Brigadier respectively are invited to apply online through the official SBI careers website. Selection Process
- Shortlisting: Based on qualification, experience, and suitability. Mere fulfilling minimum qualifications does not guarantee a call for interview.
- Interview: Carries 100 marks. Qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank.
- Merit List: Prepared in descending order based on interview scores. In case of tie, candidates ranked by age (descending).

Important Instructions
- Candidates can apply for only one post. Multiple applications will lead to cancellation.
- The registration process is complete only after the fee is deposited online before the last date.
- Upload all required documents; incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Shortlisting is provisional without document verification. Original documents will be verified at the interview stage.
- No hard copy of the application or documents needs to be sent to the SBI office.
- All updates, revisions, and corrigendum will be hosted only on the Bank's website.
- The contract period is 2 years, renewable for up to 2 more years within the outer age limit of 65 years.
- Candidates with CIBIL defaults are not eligible unless the outstanding is regularized before the offer letter date.
- Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed to & fro travelling expenses by Air (economy class) by the shortest route.
