Reservation Details
  • SC/ST/OBC Reservation: As per the Bihar Reservation Act, 1991 (Bihar Act 3, 1992) as amended from time to time.
  • Women Reservation (Horizontal): 35% of vacancies in each category are reserved for women who are permanent residents of Bihar State, as per the resolution of General Administration Department, Bihar Government dated 09 July 2025.
  • EWS Reservation: As per Bihar Act 2019, valid for the financial year 2025-26. The income and asset certificate issued as per the prescribed format is valid for one year from the date of issue.
  • Freedom Fighters' Grandchildren: 2% horizontal reservation for grandsons/granddaughters of Freedom Fighters of Bihar State as per General Administration Department resolution No. 13185 dated 03 September 2015.
  • Reservation benefits are applicable only to permanent residents of Bihar State. Candidates from other states will be considered under the Unreserved category.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Educational Qualification: As per the official notification, candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualifications as mentioned in the detailed advertisement.
  • Age Limit: As prescribed in the official notification. Age relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per Government of Bihar rules.

Shortlisting for Physical Efficiency Test: Candidates will be shortlisted based on main exam marks up to a maximum of 3 times the total vacancies.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • The PET is qualifying in nature.
  • No marks are assigned for the Physical Efficiency Test.
  • Candidates who do not meet the prescribed physical standards will be considered disqualified.
Physical Standards: Height, chest, and weight measurement standards as mentioned in the notification will be checked.

Merit List Preparation
  • The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Main Written Examination (Paper 1 + Paper 2), category-wise as per reservation.
  • In case of a tie, the following criteria will be applied:
  • Older candidate (by date of birth) will be placed higher.
  • If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with higher educational qualification will be placed higher.
  • If both marks and date of birth are the same, priority will be given based on the alphabetical order of the name as mentioned in the 10th Board certificate (Hindi alphabet order).
