Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Possessing a University Degree.
- Additional Condition: Only non-recommended candidates of UPSC Civil Services Examination-2024 (CSE-2024) as per list/details available on UPSC Pratibha Setu Portal are eligible to apply.

The selection will consist of the following stages:
- Stage 1: Screening of Applications & Shortlisting (based on total marks in UPSC CSE-2024 Mains + Personality Test)
- Stage 2: Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) - Qualifying in nature
- Stage 3: Document Verification

- Click on the "Apply Online" link for Advt. No. E-1/RC/2026/2
- Register with your UPSC Roll Number, email address and mobile number
- On successful registration, you will get a User ID and password
- Log in and complete your profile page (Basic details, Category, PwBD status, Ex-Serviceman status etc.)
- Fill the Online Application Form in 6 tabs: Personal Details, Education, Experience, Additional details, Uploads, Preview & Submit
- Upload scanned photograph, signature, and required documents
- Pay the application fee through SBI Collect (if applicable)
- Enter the payment details and upload e-Receipt
- Verify all details before final submission
- Click on the "Submit" button and take a printout of the completed application form for future reference
- Applications can be submitted from 23 June 2026 (10:00 AM) to 13 July 2026 (5:00 PM)
- Once the profile is locked, details cannot be modified
- Application form details cannot be changed or edited after final submission

Salary & Benefits
The selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Level 7 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400) as per 7th CPC.

Cadre Allocation
- A Single Merit List will be prepared
- Allocation of Cadre (General, Finance & Accounts, Store & Purchase) will be decided by CSIR
- Allocation will be based on merit and choice furnished by candidates in the online application form
- The Cadre once allotted will be final and unchangeable
Tie Resolution Criteria
In the event of a tie in scores, merit will be decided by applying the following criteria in order of precedence:
- Candidate with higher marks in Mains Examination of CSE-2024 placed higher
- Date of Birth, with older candidates placed higher
- Candidates acquiring Essential Degree earlier placed higher
- Alphabetical order in which first names of the candidates appear

Important Conditions
- Applicant must be a Citizen of India
- Mere fulfillment of eligibility criteria will not entitle candidates to be called for CPT/Document Verification
- Candidates working in Government Departments must produce NOC at the time of document verification
- Selected officers shall be liable to serve anywhere in India and may be transferred to any CSIR laboratory/Institute/Unit/Extension Centre/Hqrs
- The officers recruited shall be placed on probation for two years
