Educational Qualification
Essential:
- Master’s Degree in Economics, Sociology, Humanities, Human Resource Development, Mathematics, or Statistics from a recognized University or Institute.
- Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant subject.
Experience Requirements
For Direct Recruitment (Contract Basis):
- Minimum 20 years of experience in Central/State Government, Universities, PSUs, Autonomous Organizations, Research Institutions, Private Sector Companies, Consultancy Organizations, or International Organizations.
- Experience in teaching, research, policy formulation, analysis, or administration.
- At least 5 years experience heading an organization or department independently.
- Experience in labour economics, labour market studies, industrial relations, economic development, skill development, research guidance, and revenue generation.
- Experience dealing with national and international consultants.
- Knowledge of research methodology, survey methods, sampling techniques, econometrics, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis, OR
- Officers with 3 years regular service in Level-14 of the Pay Matrix or equivalent.
- Must possess prescribed educational qualifications and experience.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age for Deputation: 58 Years as on closing date.
- Contract appointment tenure up to 65 years of age.
Salary & Benefits
- Pay Level-15 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
- Pay Scale: Rs.1,82,200 – Rs.2,24,100 per month.
Contract Period
- Initial tenure of 5 years.
- Eligible for a second term based on exceptional performance.
- No person shall hold office beyond 65 years of age.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as Chief Executive of NILERD.
- Manage administration, research programmes, and institutional development.
- Act as Member-Secretary of the General Council and Executive Council.
- Oversee finance, budgeting, staff administration, recruitment, promotions, and policy implementation.
- Lead labour economics research and development initiatives.
- Represent NILERD before Government and other stakeholders.
