The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has invited applications for 02 posts of Associate Professor (Group A) on deputation (including short term contract) basis at its Vijayawada Campus located at Kondapavuluru Village, Gannavaram Mandal, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. Applications must reach NIDM within 60 days of issue of this circular i.e., by 13 July 2026. Applications can only be sent through proper channel and must be duly countersigned by the competent authority.

About NIDM
The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) is India's apex institution for training, research, documentation and capacity building in disaster management. It functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and is headquartered at Plot No-15, Block-B, Pocket-3, Sector 29, Rohini, Delhi-110042.
NIDM works closely with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and various state agencies to promote resilience and build a disaster-free India. Eligibility Criteria
Mode of Recruitment — Deputation (Including Short Term Contract):
Officers/faculty members of Central Government or State Government or Union Territories or Statutory/Autonomous Bodies or Universities/Institutes fully funded by Central Government or State Government:
- Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/department, OR
- Assistant Professor with 10 years of service in the grade
- Masters Degree in Social Sciences / Environmental/Earth Science / Engineering / Disaster Management or allied subjects with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade
- Good academic record with Ph.D. degree in the concerned or allied disciplines
- Faculty of Universities/Post Graduate Colleges holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre, OR
- Minimum 10 years of teaching or research experience in a regular position equivalent to Assistant Professor
- Evidence of published work — minimum 5 publications as books or research/policy papers in indexed or International Standard Book Number (ISBN) / International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) numbered journals or books
- Contribution to innovation in education, design of new curricula and courses, developing training modules and technology-mediated teaching learning process
- Experience of guiding candidates for research at Doctoral level
- Outstanding professional with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to knowledge in the concerned or allied discipline
- Deputation period shall ordinarily be for 3 years, extendable up to 5 years
- Total deputation period including any ex-cadre post held immediately before this appointment shall not exceed 5 years
- Age limit for deputation: 56 years as on 1st July of the year of advertisement
Salary & Benefits
- Pay Level 12 as per 7th CPC
- Pay Band 3: Rs.15,600 – Rs.39,100/- + Grade Pay Rs.7,600/-
- All other allowances as admissible under Central Government rules

Applications must be forwarded in duplicate, duly countersigned by the competent authority, along with:
- Filled application form (Annexure-I) in duplicate with all details in Block Letters
- Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs/APARs) in original or attested photocopies for the last 5 years — attested with rubber stamp on each page by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary to the Govt. of India
- Integrity Certificate from the employer
- Certificate that no disciplinary/vigilance proceedings are pending or contemplated against the officer
- List of major/minor penalties imposed in the last 10 years (or certificate of no penalties)
- Attested copies of all educational qualification certificates (Masters, Ph.D.)
- List/proof of publications (minimum 5 — ISBN/ISSN indexed books or journals)
- Experience certificates from previous and current employers
- Details of current pay/emoluments
