The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), established under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 has invited applications for engagement of Research Associates and Consultants on contract basis. Total 05 posts are available in Law and Business Management disciplines. Monthly remuneration ranges from ₹70,000/- to ₹2,50,000/- depending on experience level. About IBBI
The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) is a statutory regulatory body established under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. Headquartered at 7th Floor, Mayur Bhawan, Connaught Place, New Delhi-110001, IBBI regulates insolvency professionals, insolvency professional agencies and information utilities in India.
IBBI plays a central role in promoting a time-bound and transparent insolvency resolution framework across the country. It functions under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India and oversees the implementation of the IBC to ensure fair and efficient resolution of insolvency and bankruptcy matters for creditors and debtors alike.
Research Associates and Consultants engaged by IBBI assist the Board in discharging its functions under the IBC, including research, regulatory work, policy analysis and legal matters.

Total Posts: 05 (may increase or decrease as per requirement)
- Research Associate (Level II/III) – Law: 03 Posts
- Consultant (Level IV/V) – Law / Business Management: 02 Posts
Eligibility Criteria
Law Discipline:
- Essential: LL.B or equivalent from a recognised University/Institution AND qualified to be enrolled as an Advocate in a Bar Council under the Advocates Act, 1961
- Desirable: Consistent high academic performance; LL.M./Doctoral degree from a reputed University in Law or closely related area; Degree/Diploma/Certification in Regulatory/Business Law/Economics
- Essential: Post Graduate Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Master of Business Management from a recognised University/Institute, OR Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), OR Member of Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), OR Member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)
- Desirable: More than one of the essential qualifications; Consistent high academic performance; Doctoral degree in Law/Management/Accounts/Finance or closely related area; Degree/Diploma/Certification in Regulatory/Business Law/Economics

Salary & Benefits
- Level I – Research Associate (Less than 3 years experience): ₹70,000/- per month
- Level II – Research Associate (3 to less than 5 years): ₹1,00,000/- per month
- Level III – Research Associate (5 to less than 10 years): ₹1,35,000/- per month
- Level IV – Consultant (10 to less than 15 years): ₹1,85,000/- per month
- Level V – Consultant (15 years and above): ₹2,50,000/- per month
- Annual increase of 10% on consolidated monthly remuneration

Selection Process
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on the information provided in the online application
- If applications received are more than 4 times the number of vacancies, a scrutiny committee will be constituted for shortlisting
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to send self-attested document copies as and when demanded by IBBI
- Original documents must be produced as and when sought by IBBI during the process
Important Instructions
- This engagement is on contract basis initially for 1 year — extendable based on requirements and satisfactory performance
- Number of vacancies may increase or decrease at the discretion of the competent authority
- Only post-qualification experience will be considered — pre-qualification experience will not be counted
- Experience in NCLT/NCLAT/IBBI/IBC/Insolvency field must be mentioned explicitly in the designated separate column
- If marks are in grades, fill the grade as well as equivalent percentage as per institute norms
