The North Eastern Council (NEC) Secretariat, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India, invites applications from eligible and suitable officers for recruitment to the post of Research Officer (Industries) on deputation (including short-term contract), deputation or re-employment basis. The selected candidate will be appointed in Level-10 of the Pay Matrix. Applications through proper channel must reach the NEC Secretariat within 60 days from publication of the advertisement in Employment News. The last date is 20 July 2026.

Pay Scale
- Level-10 of the Pay Matrix
- ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
Eligibility Criteria
Officers of the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territory Administrations, Autonomous Bodies, Statutory Organizations, Public Sector Undertakings, Recognized Universities or Recognized Research Institutes:
- Holding analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre/department; OR
- Having 02 years of regular service in Level-9 (₹53,100 – ₹1,67,800) or equivalent; OR
- Having 04 years of regular service in Level-8 (₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100) or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Minimum 05 years of experience in promotion and development of industries.
Eligibility for Armed Forces Personnel
- Armed Forces personnel of the rank of Lieutenant or equivalent who are due to retire or transfer to reserve within one year may also apply.
- They must possess the prescribed educational qualifications and experience.
- Selected officers may initially be appointed on deputation terms and subsequently on re-employment terms as per rules.
Age Limit
- Maximum age shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Job Responsibilities
- Deal with matters relating to promotion and development of industries in the North Eastern Region.
- Assist the Director (Tourism & Industries) in matters related to industries and allied sectors.
- Support planning, policy formulation and implementation of industrial development initiatives.
Period of Deputation
- The period of deputation including short-term contract shall ordinarily not exceed 03 years.
- Previous deputation service in another ex-cadre post shall be counted towards the maximum deputation period.

- Integrity Certificate Verification.
- Vigilance Clearance Verification.
- Final Selection on Deputation / Re-employment Basis.

- Attested copies of ACRs/APARs for the last 05 years.
- Integrity Certificate.
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
- Cadre Clearance Certificate.
- Major/Minor Penalty Certificate for the last 10 years.
- Certificate verifying correctness of particulars furnished by the applicant.
- Self-attested copies of educational qualification certificates.
Terms & Conditions
- The appointment is on deputation (including short-term contract) or re-employment basis.
- Pay and allowances shall be governed by DoPT O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 17.06.2010 and subsequent amendments.
- Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.
- Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.
- Candidates who apply for the post will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature subsequently.

Important Instructions
