ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, has invited applications from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of 01 Part-Time Medical Officer (PTMO) on contractual basis. The engagement is purely temporary and contractual. Eligible candidates must submit their applications through email on or before 16 June 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Walk-in Interview scheduled on 24 June 2026.

Educational Qualification

• MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized University / Institution.
• The candidate must be registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council or any other statutory authority authorized for medical practice.

Experience:

• Preference will be given to candidates having a minimum of 05 years of relevant experience in Government, Autonomous or Private Hospitals.

Salary & Benefits

• Consolidated Salary: ₹40,000/- per month (all inclusive).
• Annual increment up to 5% of the base remuneration may be granted after successful completion of each year of engagement.
• Maximum engagement period shall not exceed 03 years.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 65 Years as on 01 June 2026.
• Age relaxation may be considered in exceptional cases on a case-to-case basis.
• No engagement shall be permissible beyond 70 years of age under any circumstances.

Working Hours & Attendance

• Minimum 02 hours per day.
• Minimum 03 days per week or as mutually agreed for longer duration.
• Present Dispensary Timings: 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM.
• Second Saturday and Sunday are closed holidays.
• Attendance will be maintained by the Institute.
• Payment shall be made only for the days attended.
• Monthly attendance will be certified by the designated authority before release of remuneration.
• Absence without prior intimation may lead to termination of engagement.

Place of Duty

• ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi.
• The selected candidate may also be required to attend field units within municipal limits of the city, if necessary.

Job Description

• Provide outdoor medical treatment to regular employees and family members of the Institute.
• Provide consultation to Employees, Research Associates (RA), SRFs, Young Professionals and students not covered under ESIC or other medical benefit schemes.
• Provide emergency medical assistance during health-related incidents without additional remuneration.
• Assist in health advisory services, screening programmes and awareness activities during epidemics, outbreaks or pandemics.
• Participate in internal health camps, vaccination drives and wellness initiatives organized by the Institute.

Terms & Conditions

• The engagement is purely temporary and contractual in nature.
• The appointment shall not confer any right for regular appointment in ICAR-IARI.
• Initial engagement will be for one year and may be extended annually based on performance and requirement.
• Maximum engagement period shall not exceed three years in total.
• Either party may terminate the engagement by giving one month's notice or one month's remuneration in lieu thereof.
• The candidate must be medically fit and shall submit a medical fitness certificate at the time of engagement.
• The selected candidate shall maintain confidentiality of official information obtained during the course of engagement.
• The selected candidate shall not engage in private medical practice during assigned duty hours.
• No TA/DA shall be admissible for attending the interview or during the period of engagement unless specifically approved by the Competent Authority.

• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• In case of any legal dispute, the jurisdiction shall lie within the courts of Delhi only.
• The terms and conditions shall be governed by ICAR O.M. No. 3(4)/95-Per.IV dated 03 December 2025 and any subsequent orders issued by ICAR from time to time.
• Mere shortlisting or appearance in the interview does not guarantee selection.
• The decision of the Competent Authority regarding selection shall be final and binding on all candidates.
