The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), an independent business division under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has invited online applications for the posts of Senior AI/ML Engineer and Senior MLOps Engineer on a contractual basis. About NeGD
The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) functions under the Digital India Corporation and Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY). NeGD supports the Government of India in programme management and implementation of various e-Governance initiatives and Digital India projects across Central and State Governments.
NeGD manages major Digital India platforms including DigiLocker, UMANG, Poshan Tracker, OpenForge Platform, API Setu, National Academic Depository, Academic Bank of Credits, and Learning Management System. Educational Qualification
Senior AI/ML Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related quantitative field
- Master’s Degree (M.Tech/MS) or PhD in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science or related field is desirable
- Strong foundation in Linear Algebra, Calculus, Probability, Statistics and Optimization Theory
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical field
- Master’s Degree (M.Tech/MS) in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or Computer Science is desirable
- Cloud and Kubernetes certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP, CKA/CKAD) are desirable
Experience Requirements
Senior AI/ML Engineer
- 5–9 years of research and development experience in Applied Machine Learning
- Expertise in Neural Network Design and Model Training
- Experience in NLP, Computer Vision, Speech Recognition, Recommendation Systems or Reinforcement Learning
- Research publications in top-tier ML conferences/journals preferred
- 5–9 years of hands-on experience in Production ML Infrastructure Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Large-Scale Model Deployment and MLOps
- Experience managing On-Premise GPU Clusters and Cloud ML Platforms
- Experience deploying and maintaining large language models in production environments preferred

- Design and develop advanced AI/ML models

- Mentor junior engineers and researchers
