Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT), Chennai, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released the official recruitment notification for the post of Associate Professor on a regular basis. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 06 vacancies in various faculties including Linguistics, School of Languages & Language Education, Art & Architecture, Manuscriptology, Translation, and Lexicography.
Eligible Indian citizens possessing a Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline with a Master's degree (55% marks) and a minimum of eight years of teaching/research experience with seven publications and a research score of 75 are invited to apply. Candidates must possess experience exclusively on research works relating to the Classical phase of Tamil from the early period to 600 CE. The selection will be based on academic record, teaching & research experience, and performance in the interview. Common Essential Qualifications for All Posts
- Ph.D. Degree: Ph.D. degree in the concerned discipline from a recognized University or Institute.
- Master's Degree: Master's Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade in point scale).
- Teaching/Research Experience: Minimum eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry.
- Publications: Minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- Research Score: Total research score of 75 as per UGC Regulations, July 2018 (Annexure C).
- Special Requirement: Experience exclusively on research works relating to the Classical phase of Tamil from the early period to 600 CE.

Specialization: Ph.D. in Linguistics from a recognized University or Institute.

Selection Process
- Stage 1: Screening – Based on qualifications, experience, publications, research score, and Academic/Research Score as per Annexure C.
- Stage 2: Shortlisting – Maximum of 15 candidates per post will be called for interview based on screening score.
- Stage 3: Interview – Based on academic record, teaching & research experience, and performance in interview. Seminar/Colloquium may be utilized as a method of selection.

- Annexure B and all other relevant supporting documents.
- Ph.D. Certificate and Course Work Certificate (in prescribed format).
- NOC from current employer (if employed in Government/PSU/Autonomous Bodies).
- Foreign University Ph.D. Equivalence Certificate from AIU (if applicable).
- OBC Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for OBC candidates).
- All copies of documents should be duly attested.

Important Instructions
