- Senior Secretariat Assistants of Central Secretariat Clerical Service with 5 years regular service in the grade; OR
- Stenographers Grade 'D' of Central Secretariat Stenographers Service with 5 years regular service in the grade; OR
- Junior Secretariat Assistants / Computists or equivalent grades with 10 years regular service in the grade (applicable in the event of non-availability of Senior Secretariat Assistants/Stenographers Grade 'D')

- Conducting investigations and inquiries related to textile industry matters
- Collecting, compiling, and analysing data related to textile production, trade, and exports
- Preparing investigation reports and submitting findings to senior officers
- Coordinating with field offices, textile boards, and other government departments
- Handling correspondence and maintaining records related to investigative work
- Any other duties assigned by senior officers from time to time
