State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Specialist Cadre Officers on a Regular Basis for the post of Bank Medical Officer (BMO) in Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II). This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 35 vacancies across various circles of the Bank. The online registration process commences from 24 June 2026, and the last date to apply is 14 July 2026.
Eligible Indian citizens possessing MBBS degree from a recognized university with the required experience are invited to apply online through the official SBI careers website. Candidates with postgraduate qualifications (MD/MS or equivalent) are preferred. The selection will be based on Online Written Test and Interview, followed by Local Language Proficiency Test. Educational Qualifications
- Mandatory: MBBS from any recognized university/College approved by National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council.
- Preferred: Post Graduate Diploma OR Post Graduate Degree of MD / MS or its equivalent.
Experience Required (As on 31 May 2026)
- MBBS Degree Holders: Minimum 5 years' experience as a General Practitioner from the date of registration with NMC/State Medical Council.
- Post Graduate Degree Holders: Minimum 3 years' experience as a General Practitioner from the date of registration with NMC/State Medical Council.
- Note: Experience gained during internship will NOT be counted. Teaching & training experience will NOT be counted.
Age Limit (As on 31 May 2026)
- Maximum Age: 35 Years (General/UR Category)
- Age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per Government of India guidelines:
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
- SC/ST: 5 Years
- PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 Years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 Years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 Years
- Ex-Servicemen: 5 Years

- Stage 1: Online Written Test
- General Aptitude (Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English) – Qualifying in Nature
- Professional Knowledge – 50 Questions, 100 Marks
- Negative Marking for Wrong Answers
- Stage 2: Interview – 100 Marks
- Final Merit: Written Test (70%) + Interview (30%)
- Stage 3: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) – Qualifying in Nature
Salary & Benefits
- Grade: Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II)
- Pay Scale: ₹64,820 – 2,340/1 – 67,160 – 2,680/10 – 93,940
- Non-Practicing Allowance: 20% of Basic Pay
- Higher Start in Pay Scale:
- 1 Increment for Post Graduate Diploma
- 2 Increments for MD/MS or equivalent
- DA, HRA, CCA, Provident Fund, NPS, LFC, Medical Facility, and other perquisites as per rules

Important Instructions
