Eligibility Criteria
- Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment
Age Limit
- Age Range: 18 to 40 years
- Born Between: 02 January 1986 and 01 January 2008 (both dates included)
- SC/ST and OBC candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation as per Government of Kerala rules.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree in Fisheries Science from a recognized University.
- A Masters Degree in Fisheries Science / Industrial Fisheries / Mariculture / Marine Biology / Coastal Aquaculture / Aquatic Biology and Fisheries / Aquaculture / Aquaculture and Fishery Microbiology / Capture and Culture Fisheries / Aquaculture and Fishery Biology / Applied Fisheries and Aquaculture / Fish Processing Technology and Aquaculture / Aquaculture Engineering / Zoology from a recognized University.
- Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.
- GO (P) No 01/2019/F&PD dt 29.01.2019 (SRO No 90/2019) applies.
- Degrees/Diplomas awarded by UGC approved Universities or Institutions established through an Act passed by Parliament/State Legislative Assembly in accordance with the conditions laid down in G.O (M.S) No.526/PD dated 17.07.1965 are acceptable for appointment in Government Services.
Reservation for Differently Abled Candidates
- 4% of the total vacancies reported shall be reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates with disabilities as specified vide GO(P) No. 5/2023/SJD dated 01 October 2023.
- Present Order for Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 Section 34.
Probation Period
- Every person appointed to this post shall be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
Account Test Requirement
- Every person appointed to this post should pass the Account Test (Lower or Higher) during the probationary period.
- They should also pass the Staff Training Course conducted by the Fisheries Director.
Ranked List Validity
- The Ranked List prepared by the Commission shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years.
- The list will cease to be in force if a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year is published.
- Candidates will be advised against the vacancies shown above and also against all vacancies reported to the Commission during the pendency of the Ranked List.

Important Instructions for Candidates
- Candidates who receive a profile message at any stage directing them to upload documents to prove their qualifications should do so within the stipulated time; otherwise, they will not be considered for the next stage.
- In case of difference in Caste/Community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a Gazette Notification in this regard, along with Non-Creamy Layer Certificate / Community Certificate at the time of certificate verification.
