The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) is a Central Government Ministry under the Government of India, headquartered in New Delhi. It oversees policies related to broadcasting, press, films, and information dissemination across the country.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) functions under MIB and operates regional offices across major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cuttack, and others.
This recruitment is being conducted to fill deputation-based posts of Regional Officer and Additional Regional Officer at CBFC regional offices in Mumbai and Cuttack. The reference notification number is M-11011/7/2023-DO(FC).

── Eligibility Conditions ──
Regional Officer – Essential Qualifications:
- Officers of Indian Administrative Service or Central Service Group 'A', eligible for appointment as Deputy Secretary to the Govt. of India
- Degree from a recognised university or equivalent
- Sound knowledge of Hindi and one more Indian language – Marathi (for Mumbai) or Odiya (for Cuttack)
- Sound knowledge of Indian History and Culture
- Minimum 10 years of administrative or managerial experience in a responsible capacity
- Suitable officers of Indian Administrative Service or Central Service Group 'A'
- Degree from a recognised university or equivalent
- Sound knowledge of Hindi and one more Indian language – Marathi (Mumbai post)
- Sound knowledge of Indian History and Culture
- Minimum 7 years of administrative or managerial experience in a responsible capacity
Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of UPSC for otherwise well-qualified candidates.

- Regional Officer: Pay Matrix Level 12 – Rs. 78800 to Rs. 209200 (Pre-revised PB-3 Rs. 15600–39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 7600)
- Additional Regional Officer: Pay Matrix Level 11 – Rs. 67700 to Rs. 208700 (Pre-revised PB-3 Rs. 15600–39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 6600)

── Job Responsibilities ──
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the CBFC Regional Office
- Handle administrative and managerial functions of the regional unit
- Coordinate with the central MIB office and other government bodies
- Ensure proper implementation of Film Certification rules and regulations
- Manage staff and maintain official records and clearances
- Eligible officers must apply through the prescribed proforma (Annexure-II)

- Only serving officers on deputation are eligible – this is not an open recruitment
- Officers who volunteer for the post cannot withdraw their candidature later
- Maximum age limit is 56 years as on the closing date
- Period of deputation: Ordinarily not exceeding 4 years (Regional Officer) and 3 years (Additional Regional Officer)
