The Office of the Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, has released a vacancy circular inviting applications for the post of Director (Technical) on Deputation (Including Short Term Contract) basis. A total of 02 Group 'A' Gazetted vacancies are available at the Office of the Textile Commissioner, Mumbai. Eligible officers from Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies and Statutory Organizations can apply through the proper channel within 60 days from the date of publication of the vacancy circular / Employment News (whichever is later).

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should be officers serving under:
- Central Government.
- State Government.
- Union Territory Administration.
- Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
- Autonomous Bodies.
- Statutory Organizations.
- Holding an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre/department.
- OR
- Having five years of regular service in Level-11 (₹67,700–₹2,08,700) of the Pay Matrix after appointment on a regular basis in the parent cadre/department.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering. OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Manufacturing. OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Technology. OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Chemistry. OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Processing. OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Technology. OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. OR
- Equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years' managerial experience in the textile-related field in a Government Department or Government Organization.
- Departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for appointment on deputation.
Age Limit
- The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation (including Short Term Contract) shall be 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications.
Pay Scale & Benefits
- Pay Level: Level-12 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix.
- Pay Scale: ₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200.
- The selected officer will draw pay and allowances as admissible under Government of India rules applicable to deputation appointments.
- Other allowances and benefits will be governed by the applicable Central Government deputation rules.
Tenure of Deputation
- The period of deputation (including Short Term Contract) shall ordinarily not exceed three (03) years.
- The deputation period may be regulated in accordance with Government of India rules issued from time to time.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor technical activities related to the textile sector.
- Provide technical guidance on textile manufacturing, processing and quality standards.
- Assist in policy implementation and technical evaluation of textile-related projects.
- Coordinate with Government departments, textile industries and other stakeholders.
- Perform administrative and technical responsibilities assigned by the Office of the Textile Commissioner.
Selection Process
- Scrutiny of applications received through the proper channel.
- Verification of eligibility, educational qualifications and experience.
- Assessment of Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs).
- Verification of Vigilance Clearance and Integrity Certificate.
- Selection by the Competent Authority based on eligibility and service records.

- Cadre Clearance Certificate.
- Integrity Certificate.
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate.

- Attested photocopies of APARs/ACRs for the last 05 years.
- Copies of educational qualification certificates.
- Copies of experience certificates, wherever applicable.
- Any other supporting documents mentioned in the official notification.
