About Narmada Control Authority (NCA)
The Narmada Control Authority (NCA) is a statutory body established by the Government of India under the provisions of the Inter-State Water Disputes Act, 1956. It was constituted to ensure compliance with the decisions and directions of the Narmada Water Disputes Tribunal (NWDT) relating to the utilization and regulation of the waters of the Narmada River. The Authority functions under the administrative control of the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. Headquartered in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, NCA coordinates among beneficiary states for reservoir regulation, dam safety, hydropower generation, irrigation management and implementation of tribunal awards.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility
- Candidates must possess a Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University.
- Applicants should be officers serving under the Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies, Statutory Organizations or Recognized Research Institutions.
- Candidates holding an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre/department are eligible.
- OR officers holding a post in Pay Matrix Level-12 (or equivalent/higher including NFSG Level-13) with a minimum of 08 years of regular service are eligible.
- OR officers having at least 17 years of regular Group 'A' service, including a minimum of 04 years in Junior Administrative Grade, are eligible.
- The officer should belong to states other than the beneficiary States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan as specified in the notification.
Experience Required
- Minimum 05 years of overall experience in planning, formulation and execution of large, major and multipurpose river valley projects.
- Experience in irrigation and hydropower sector projects.
- Adequate administrative experience in engineering management.
- Experience in dealing with Inter-State Water Issues will be treated as desirable.
- Experience in policy implementation, project monitoring and coordination with Government agencies is preferred.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervise planning and execution of major river valley development projects.
- Monitor implementation of the Narmada Water Disputes Tribunal Award.
- Coordinate with beneficiary States and Central Government departments.
- Provide technical leadership on irrigation, hydropower and water resources projects.
- Ensure compliance with statutory provisions and Government policies.
- Review engineering proposals related to dam safety, reservoir operations and water management.
- Prepare technical reports, policy recommendations and project evaluations.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Ministry of Jal Shakti or the Narmada Control Authority.
Pay Scale & Allowances
- Pay Level: Level-14 (7th Central Pay Commission)
- Pay Matrix: ₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200
- Selected officers appointed on Deputation (including Short-Term Contract) shall receive pay and allowances in accordance with the Government of India rules applicable to Deputation appointments.
- Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance and other admissible allowances shall be governed by the applicable Government of India rules.
- Leave, medical facilities, LTC, pensionary benefits and other service conditions shall be regulated in accordance with Central Government instructions.
- The period of Deputation including the period of Deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment shall ordinarily not exceed 05 years.
Recruitment Method
