About Tungabhadra Board
The Tungabhadra Board is a statutory organization constituted by the Government of India for the administration, operation and management of the Tungabhadra Reservoir and associated water resources. The Board is responsible for water management, irrigation, hydro power generation, drinking water supply and fisheries development for the beneficiary States of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in accordance with the KWDT Award and Government of India regulations. The Secretary is the chief administrative officer responsible for implementing Board decisions and coordinating all administrative and technical functions.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility
- Officers holding an Analogous Post in the Central Government, State Government, Autonomous Bodies or eligible organizations.
- OR Officers holding a post in Level-13, including officers having Non-Functional Pay Scale in Level-14 as per 7th CPC.
- OR Officers in the corresponding pay scale under the 6th CPC as prescribed in the notification.
- Must possess at least 16 years of Group 'A' Service.
- Should possess knowledge of Water Resources Management, Irrigation, Hydro Power Generation and Drinking Water Supply.
- Knowledge of Audit and Accounts Administration is desirable.
- The officer should have no vigilance case or disciplinary proceedings pending.
- A cooling period of 03 years shall apply before reappointment as Secretary, Tungabhadra Board.
- Maximum age should not exceed 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Act as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Tungabhadra Board.
- Convene meetings of the Board and prepare agenda notes.
- Maintain records and proceedings of Board meetings.
- Issue orders for implementation of Board resolutions.
- Authenticate all official orders and decisions of the Board.
- Supervise reservoir water releases and water management.
- Coordinate irrigation water distribution among Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
- Monitor hydro power generation activities.
- Oversee drinking water supply management.
- Coordinate fisheries development activities under Tungabhadra Reservoir.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Tungabhadra Board.
Pay Scale & Allowances
- Pay Level: Level-13A of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
- Pay Matrix: ₹1,31,100 – ₹2,16,600.
- Pay and allowances shall be regulated in accordance with the Government of India rules applicable to officers appointed on Deputation.
- Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance and other admissible benefits shall be governed by the applicable Government orders.
- Leave, medical facilities and other service benefits shall be admissible as per the prevailing Central Government rules.
Deputation Period
- Initial deputation period shall be 03 Years.
- The deputation may be extended up to 05 Years in accordance with Government of India instructions.
- The appointment shall be governed by the provisions contained in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) guidelines on deputation.
- The selected officer shall be relieved by the parent department before joining the Tungabhadra Board.
Age Limit
- The maximum age of the applicant shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
- Age eligibility shall be determined with reference to the last date prescribed in the notification.
