Defence Scientific Information & Documentation Centre (DESIDOC), operating under the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, invites applications from eligible candidates for engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for one year apprenticeship training during the Financial Year 2026-27. Applications are invited in various disciplines from eligible candidates.

- Library & Information Science – 16 Positions
- Computer Science – 02 Positions

Note: Number of apprenticeship positions may increase or decrease depending upon organizational requirements.

Educational Qualification
Library & Information Science
- Graduation with Degree in Library & Information Science (One Year Course) from a recognized University/Institute.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science; OR
- Three Years Diploma in Computer Science from a recognized University/Institute.
- Three Years Diploma in Photography or Videography; OR
- ITI Certificate from a recognized University/Institute.
Monthly Stipend
- Graduate / B.E. Candidates – ₹12,300/- per month
- Diploma / ITI Candidates – ₹10,900/- per month
Eligibility Criteria
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible.
- Only candidates who passed their qualifying examination during 2024 or 2025 are eligible.
- Candidates who passed before 2024 are not eligible.
- Candidates possessing Post Graduate qualifications are not eligible.
- Candidates who have undergone apprenticeship training or have one year or more job experience after obtaining the essential qualification are not eligible.
- Candidates previously terminated from apprenticeship training in any organization are not eligible.
- Graduate/Diploma/ITI candidates must register on the NATS portal before applying.

Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 28 Years
- Age relaxation of 05 years for SC/ST candidates.
- Age relaxation of 03 years for OBC candidates.
Training Duration
- Duration of Apprenticeship Training: 12 Months
- Training will commence from the date of execution of Apprenticeship Contract.

Selection Process
- Screening of Applications.
- Shortlisting based on percentage/marks obtained in essential qualification.
- Written Test and/or Interview.
- Document Verification.
- Final Merit-Based Selection.

Reservation
- Reservation will be applicable as per Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
- SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates must submit valid caste certificates in the prescribed format.

- Duly Filled Application Form.
- Recent Passport Size Photograph.
- Educational Qualification Certificates and Marksheets.
- NATS Registration Number.
- Category Certificate (if applicable).
- Identity Proof.
- Self-attested copies of all supporting documents.
- Medical Fitness Certificate (at the time of joining).
Terms & Conditions
- No TA/DA will be paid for written test/interview.
- Selected candidates must execute Apprenticeship Contract for one year.
- Completion of apprenticeship training does not guarantee employment in DRDO/DESIDOC.
- Suppression of facts or false information will lead to disqualification.
- DESIDOC reserves the right to increase or decrease apprenticeship seats.
- Any form of canvassing will result in cancellation of candidature.
- DESIDOC reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the advertisement without assigning any reason.
- No hostel, quarters or transport facility will be provided during training.
- Any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Hon’ble High Court of Delhi.
