Project Name: Enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing tools

Tenure: Till 30 September 2026 or termination of the project, whichever is earlier.

Educational Qualification
- Master’s Degree in Botany / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Life Science / Genetics / Plant Breeding / Plant Pathology / Plant Physiology / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics.
- Research experience in plant molecular biology.
- Gene cloning and plant transformation.
- Tissue culture techniques.
- Development and analysis of transgenic plants.
- Genome editing of plants.
- Scientific writing evidenced through publications.
- Fellowship / Associateship / Training in relevant areas.
- Experience in rice, wheat, mustard and chickpea transformation work.
Salary & Benefits
- Fixed Monthly Emoluments: ₹42,000/- (Consolidated) per month.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age: 45 Years
- Age will be calculated as on the date of interview.
Nature of Appointment
- The position is purely temporary and contractual.
- Initially valid for one year or till project completion, whichever is earlier.
- The engagement may be terminated with one month's notice.
- No claim for regular employment in ICAR shall be entertained.
