The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under Digital India Corporation — a not-for-profit company of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India — has invited applications for Director (02 posts) on deputation basis. Officers currently serving in Level-13 or above as per 7th CPC in Central/State Government, PSUs, Autonomous Organizations or Statutory Bodies can apply. Applications through proper channel must reach NeGD by 24 June 2026.

About NeGD
The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) functions under Digital India Corporation, a not-for-profit company of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY). It was set up to facilitate and support Programme Management of the Digital India Programme, with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. NeGD works with a judicious mix of private sector professionals and government officers on deputation.
NeGD provides strategic direction for e-Governance policies, supports Central and State Governments in Mission Mode Projects, conducts technical appraisals, drives capacity building, and promotes emerging technologies like AI, blockchain and cloud computing in governance. The office is located at Electronics Niketan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria
Deputation Eligibility:
- Currently serving in Level-13 or above as per 7th CPC
- Essential: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University/Institute in a suitable discipline viz Technology/Engineering etc.
- Desirable: Post-Graduation in a suitable discipline and/or MBA/PGDM
- Experience of handling end-to-end project lifecycle activities — from conceptualization and design to execution, monitoring and closure
- Managing the Project/Program budget
- Managing and utilizing resources across projects
- Knowledge of Government of India Rules and Regulations as well as State Government policies
- Experience in providing technical guidance on software architecture, system integration, API management, and cybersecurity strategies to safeguard critical government IT infrastructure
- For post Level-14: Not exceeding 58 years
- For posts below Level-14 in the pay matrix: Not exceeding 56 years
Job Responsibilities
- Handling end-to-end project lifecycle activities — conceptualization, design, execution, monitoring and closure
- Managing project/programme budgets
- Managing and utilizing resources across projects
- Providing technical guidance on software architecture, system integration and API management
- Implementing cybersecurity strategies to safeguard critical government IT infrastructure
- Supporting NeGD's mandate of e-Governance policy implementation, Mission Mode Projects, capacity building and digital initiatives across States and UTs
Salary & Benefits
- Pay will be regulated under DoP&T OM No.6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 17/06/2010 and OM No.2/11/2017-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 24/11/2017, as amended from time to time
- Pay shall be commensurate with the actual pay level drawn by the applicant, plus perquisites as per NeGD norms for Deputationists
- Medical facilities — option to continue CGHS of parent organization or avail Medical Reimbursement Scheme of NeGD-DIC
- Leased accommodation facilities
- Vehicle in lieu of conveyance allowance
- LTA on annual basis, if opted in lieu of LTC
- Allowance for IT equipment for official purposes as per level

Advance applications may be sent directly to meet the deadline, but documents through proper channel must be submitted at the time of interview, failing which the application will not be considered.

Instructions for Government Employees
- Applications must be forwarded through proper channel by the parent department
- NOC in the prescribed format (Part-2 of Annexure-I) is mandatory at the time of interview — applications without proper NOC will not be considered
- The forwarding office must certify vigilance clearance, integrity "Beyond Doubt", no penalties in force, and no adverse ACR remarks in the last 5 years
- Selected candidates will be relieved immediately by the parent organization
Important Instructions
- Candidates who applied earlier in response to previous NeGD circulars must apply afresh
- The initial deputation period is 3 years, extendable as per Government instructions subject to NeGD requirements
- Selected candidates will be deployed as per their grade pay and Terms & Conditions of NeGD
- Designation of the post may vary in accordance with prevailing NeGD policy
- Incomplete applications or those received without required documents will not be considered and no further correspondence will be entertained
