Technician Grade I Signal (Cat No. 01) – Pay Level 5:
- Bachelor of Science in Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology / Instrumentation from a recognized University/Institute. (OR)
- B.Sc. in a combination of any sub-stream of basic streams of Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology/Instrumentation. (OR)
- Three years Diploma in Engineering in the above basic streams or in combination of any of above basic streams. (OR)
- Degree in Engineering in the above basic streams or in combination of any of above basic streams.
- Matriculation / SSLC (10th) with minimum 50% marks + ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade.

Medical Standards
The medical requirements against different medical standards are as below:
- A-3: Physically fit in all respects. Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (power not to exceed 2D). Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6. Must pass Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Mesopic vision.
- B-1: Physically fit in all respects. Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power not to exceed 4D). Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6. Must pass Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Mesopic vision.
- B-2: Physically fit in all respects. Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power not to exceed 4D). Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6. Must pass Binocular Vision.
- C-1: Physically fit in all respects. Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses. Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.

How to Apply
Eligible candidates can apply online through the official RRB website. Follow the steps below:
- Visit the official RRB website: rrb.indianrailways.gov.in/ or any of the individual RRB websites listed in the notification.
- Click on the "CEN 02/2026 – Technician Recruitment" link.
- Read the notification carefully to know the eligibility criteria.
- Create an Account if you haven't already. If you have an existing account from earlier RRB CENs, use the same credentials.
- Fill up the online application form with your personal details, educational qualifications, and post preferences.
- Choose only ONE RRB for each Pay Level. Applying to more than one RRB for the same Pay Level will lead to rejection of all applications.
- Upload live photograph (captured during application using webcam or front camera) and scanned signature as per specifications.
- Upload mandatory scanned documents:
- SC/ST Certificate (PDF, less than 400KB) – only if requesting free train travel pass
- Signature (JPG/JPEG, 30-49 KB, 140x60 pixels minimum)
- Pay the application fee online through Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking/UPI.
- Submit the application form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
- A separate application must be submitted for each Pay Level (Technician Gr I Signal and Technician Gr III).
- Applicable examination fee must be paid separately for each Pay Level.
- Details filled in 'Create an Account' form (including mobile number and Email ID) and Chosen RRB cannot be modified at any stage.
- Only one application per candidate for a Pay Level is allowed. Multiple applications will be rejected and candidate will be debarred.
- Candidates must have their own active mobile number and valid personal Email ID for communication.
- All certificates in support of Educational Qualifications, Age, Caste/Category etc. will be verified during Document Verification.

Important Instructions for Candidates
- Read the notification carefully before filling the online application.
- Ensure correct category and eligibility criteria before applying.
- Choose only one RRB for each Pay Level. Multiple applications will be rejected.
- No change of category will be permitted at any stage after registration.
- Candidates must produce original documents at the time of Document Verification.
- Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature.
- The mere issuance of an e-Call letter does NOT imply that candidature has been accepted.
- No request for change of exam date/center/shift will be entertained.
- Electronic gadgets, mobile phones, watches, calculators, bags, etc. are banned inside the test center.
- Biometric details of candidates will be recorded at every stage of the recruitment process.
- Candidates are advised to visit the official RRB websites regularly for all updates.
- Beware of touts and job racketeers. RRBs never appoint any agents or coaching centers.
- Facility of scribe is available for PwBD candidates in Blindness, Locomotor Disability (BA), and Cerebral Palsy categories.
- Other PwBD candidates can avail scribe on production of certificate from Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent.
- Scribe must be registered at rrbapply.gov.in and have completed One Time Registration (OTR).
- Candidates must provide scribe details during 11-15 August 2026 window.
- Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination will be provided.
- Educational qualification of scribe should be one step below the candidate.
- Any legal issues arising out of this CEN shall fall within the legal jurisdiction of respective Central Administrative Tribunals/High Court under which the chosen RRB is located.
