Eligibility Criteria
- Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment
Age Limit
- Age Range: 18 to 40 years
- Born Between: 02 January 1986 and 01 January 2008 (both dates included)
- SC/ST and OBC candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation as per Government of Kerala rules.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Pass in SSLC or its equivalent qualification.
- Must possess a valid Syrang License issued by an authority specified under the Kerala Inland Vessels Rules, 2010 / Mercantile Marine Department (MMD) licenses.
- Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.
- In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the Special Rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government orders declaring equivalent/higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission.
Reservation for Differently Abled Candidates
- As per GO(P) No. 13/2024/SJD dated 17 October 2024, 4% of the vacancies reported to the Commission for the above post are reserved for Differently Abled Candidates.
- Present Order for Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 Section 34.
Probation
- Every person appointed to this post shall from the date on which he joins duty be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
Ranked List Validity
- The Ranked List published by the Commission in response to this notification shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year.
- The list shall continue to be in force till the publication of a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three years, whichever is earlier.
- Candidates will be advised from the said list against the vacancies noted above and also against the vacancies that may be reported to the Commission during the period of the currency of this list.

Important Instructions for Candidates
- Candidates who receive a profile message at any stage directing them to upload documents to prove their qualifications should do so within the stipulated time; otherwise, they will not be considered for the next stage.
- In case of difference in Caste/Community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a Gazette Notification in this regard, along with Non-Creamy Layer Certificate / Community Certificate at the time of certificate verification.
- Candidates should familiarize themselves with the General Conditions given in Part II of the Gazette Notification before submitting the application.
- Applications not submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions are liable to be rejected.
