The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the official notification for the Common Recruitment Process CRP PO/MT-XVI to fill 6715 Probationary Officer / Management Trainee (PO/MT) posts in 11 Participating Public Sector Banks for the vacancies of 2027-28.
Graduates from any discipline can apply online at ibps.in from 01 July 2026 to 21 July 2026. The basic pay scale starts at ₹48,480 and goes up to ₹85,920 along with allowances. The Preliminary Exam is tentatively scheduled for August 2026.
This is an all-India level government bank job, and selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India as per the discretion of the allotted bank.

About the Organization
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous body set up by the Reserve Bank of India, Central Financial Institutions and Public Sector Banks. It conducts the Common Recruitment Process (CRP) once a year for officer and clerical posts in Participating Public Sector Banks across India.
Under CRP PO/MT-XVI, IBPS will conduct the Online Preliminary Examination, Online Main Examination and Personality Test, while the Common Interview will be conducted by the Participating Banks and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/UT/Region. Based on merit-cum-preference, shortlisted candidates will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Banks.
The 11 Participating Banks are: Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, UCO Bank and Union Bank of India.

- Reservation for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS and PwBD candidates is applicable as per Government of India rules. Vacancies are indicative; provisional allotment will be based on actual vacancies reported by the banks.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Graduation (Degree) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. of India, or an equivalent qualification. The final result must have been declared on or before 21 July 2026.
- Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026): Minimum 20 years and Maximum 30 years, i.e., born between 02.07.1996 and 01.07.2006 (both dates inclusive).
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC (NCL) – 3 years, PwBD – 10 years, Ex-Servicemen – 5 years, as per Government rules.
- Nationality: Citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or eligible persons of Indian origin as specified in the notification with a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.

Job Responsibilities
- Handling day-to-day banking operations at the allotted branch
- Customer service, account opening and general banking work
- Processing loans, advances and related credit work as assigned
- Cross-selling banking products and supporting business growth
- Any other duties assigned by the bank during the probation period
Application Fee
- SC / ST / PwBD candidates: ₹175 (inclusive of GST)
- All other candidates: ₹850 (inclusive of GST)

- Bank transaction charges are to be borne by the candidate. Fee once paid will not be refunded.

Selection Process
- Online Preliminary Examination – 100 marks (English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability; 60 minutes)
- Online Main Examination – 200 marks objective (Reasoning, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation) plus 25 marks Descriptive Paper (Essay & Comprehension)
- Personality Test – non-qualifying but mandatory to attend
- Common Interview – 100 marks; minimum qualifying marks 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD)
- Final merit is based on Main Exam and Interview in the ratio of 80:20, followed by Provisional Allotment.
- Negative Marking: 0.25 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer in the objective tests.

How to Apply
Candidates can apply online only. No other mode of application will be accepted.
- Visit the official IBPS website www.ibps.in and open the "CRP PO/MT" link.
- Click on "CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP-PO/MT-XVI".
- Complete New Registration and note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password.
- Fill in the online application form carefully and indicate your order of preference for Participating Banks.
- Upload photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, 10th certificate and live photo as per specifications.
- Pay the application fee online and click on COMPLETE REGISTRATION.
- Take a printout of the e-receipt and the submitted application form for future reference. Do not send it to IBPS.

Important Instructions
- Read the complete official notification carefully before applying and ensure you fulfil all eligibility conditions.
- Only one application should be submitted. In case of multiple applications, only the latest completed application will be retained.
- Name, Email ID, Mobile Number, State/UT in address, Post and Nationality fields cannot be edited after submission, so fill them with utmost care.
- Candidates are advised to possess a valid Aadhaar card, as Aadhaar verification may be conducted at different stages.
- No change of exam centre, date or time will be entertained. Candidates reporting late will not be allowed to appear.
- Keep about 8 copies of the same photograph uploaded in the application for use at further stages.
- Merely qualifying in the CRP does not guarantee employment; provisional allotment depends on actual vacancies reported by the banks.
