About Ravi & Beas Waters Tribunal (RBWT)

The Ravi & Beas Waters Tribunal (RBWT) is a statutory tribunal constituted by the Government of India for adjudication of disputes relating to the sharing and management of the waters of the Ravi and Beas river systems among the concerned states. The Tribunal functions under the administrative control of the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. RBWT regularly recruits experienced officers on deputation and re-employment basis to support its judicial, administrative and financial functions.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility
  • Post: Assessor
    • Officers under the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies, Statutory Organizations or Recognized Research Institutions are eligible to apply.
    • Holding an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
    • OR with 05 years of regular service in Level-14 of the Pay Matrix or equivalent.
    • OR with 10 years of regular service in Level-13 of the Pay Matrix or equivalent.
    • The officer should possess extensive knowledge and experience in irrigation engineering, river water management, water resources planning, hydrology or related technical fields.

    • Officers under the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies or Statutory Organizations are eligible to apply.
    • Holding an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
    • OR with 06 years of regular service in Level-5 of the Pay Matrix or equivalent.
    • OR with 10 years of regular service in Level-4 of the Pay Matrix or equivalent.
    • Candidates should possess adequate experience in Government Accounts, Finance, Budget, Audit and Establishment matters.

  • Experience in Government administration and public service.
  • Knowledge of Central Government rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Experience in Water Resources Management, River Basin Management or Irrigation Projects (for Assessor).

Pay Scale & Allowances
  • Assessor: Level-15 (7th CPC) – ₹1,82,200 – ₹2,24,100.
  • Assistant (Accounts): Level-6 (7th CPC) – ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400.
  • Officers appointed on Deputation (including Short-Term Contract) shall receive pay and allowances as admissible under Government of India rules.
  • Officers appointed on Re-employment shall receive remuneration and service benefits as applicable under Government of India instructions.
  • Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance and other admissible allowances shall be regulated as per applicable rules.
  • Leave, medical facilities, LTC, pensionary benefits and other service conditions shall be governed by Government of India rules.
